Who here has their nose pierced? I'm thinking of getting mine done in a few months and I have lots of questions. First, the obvious one...how badly does it hurt? Also...I've heard that it means something depending on what side you get it done on. Does it? Is it hard to maintain...like keeping clean and stuff? Is it hard to get the nose ring in and out? How long does it take to heal? I'm not sure if I should do it or not...here's a picture of me (I know it's blurry but I tried to get one that shows my nose) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v282/ILoveJohnny4E/0322061923.jpg ...do you think I would look okay with it? Because I've seen people where it just doesn't look right and I don't want to do it if it won't look good.

No offense but how do you know that if you haven't had it done? Did someone tell you that or something?

yeah my friend has a pieced nose and she pierces noses and she told me,btw i have my belly button pierced.

I got mine done not long ago.. for me it didn't hurt when they pierced it (I'd compare it to getting your cartilage done, if you have done that), but when they put in the stud it hurt.. since it had to be like turned in and stuff since it is the screw kind.

It has been the EASIEST piercing to clean and take care of for me! It never bothers me.. I just clean it twice a day with dial soap (they will tell you how). AND it never hurts.. except for one time I forgot I had it and wiped my face kind of hard after working out and kinda yanked it! I never take mine out.. since it is still in the healing process and all.. but since it is a screw it is probably hard to take out, but I didn't want a hoop. AND you aren't supposed to use a plain earring stud or it can fall out.

Also, don't get it done with the gun ever!! Get it done where they use a needle! The guy who did mine said it takes about a month to heal, but I read online it's 3-6 months. So I think it probably to the point where I can change it if I want after the first month, but not TOTALLy healed. I just got a tiny diamond stud so I don't really need to change it since it's what I wanted anyway!

And yes, I think it would look good on you!!

Aww really?? Mine didn't hurt bad.. I have 2 cartilage piercings. It hurt more than ear lobe, but not a whole lot. I know some people who said theirs hurt though, or never healed and was always sore, so I guess it depends on the person and the exact spot. Did you get yours done with a needle?

I'm not sure if it would look good on you, but it doesnt really mind cos if u dont like it then u cud take it out, and let the hole fill up. Not such a big deal.

Well I haven't had my cartilage done...lol. I don't know...I have a pretty low pain threshold but I think I can deal with it for something that I really want. Is it quick or does the pain last forever? Yeah I don't want a hoop either, I want a stud. When a girl I know had hers done they made the hole too big or something and the stud sunk down into it...what are the chances they'll screw mine up like that?

i had mine done with a gun it just felt like when uve been smaked in the face 4 a min or two. and it only hurts after when u try nd change the stud 4 the 1st time.

I got my nose pierced I think it was close to 2 years ago. I absolutely love it! Its my favourite piercing and it all depends on how high/low your pain tolerance is. I have a high pain tolerance so I didn't think it hurt like at all. But just a warning, there is blood and your eyes do water a lot but its just because of your tear gland or something, I don't really remember. It only pained for like maybe two minutes after I got it done then it was completely normal. The screw is easy to take out, you just have to twist it, I fool around with it all the time, lol.

I think you'd look good with a nose stud, you should get it done and if you don't like it, take it out. I don't think that it will leave a scar because I had mine out for a week or so and it sort of started to grow over, but it didn't look like it was going to leave a scar.

Thanks! Yeah I think I definitely want to do it...the only problem besides getting over the fear of the pain will be trying to get my family not to disown me afterward. Oh well though...they'll get over it...lol.

My mom wasn't too pleased when I asked her to take me. I wanted to get my labret done, but she wouldn't go for that. I guess I was lucky enough to get my nose, but its so worth any pain :)

Yeah my mom isn't letting me do it either, that's why I have to wait until I'm 18. Well I leave for college a couple weeks before I turn 18 so maybe I can get it done right after I move out. I don't know...I just want it soon!!!

It's worth the wait.. you don't want to go get a crappy piercing b/c you aren't 18 yet and can't get parent's permission. If you go somewhere that will pierce underaged people, that is NOT good!! My mom let me get my belly button pierced.. she went with me when I was 16 or 17, but I got my nose done on my own since I didn't want it until recently.

And don't be afraid!! It definitely wasn't so bad.. I would do it again knowing how it would feel.. but I thought it was uncomfortable getting the ring put in since nose rings are all curvey and weird!
