Lost To Life

Reaching, falling, caught by thorns
Thrown in the hearth, I still stand
Healing, breaking, then and now torn
By the failures to understand

Stop the blood but let me bleed
Heal my soul and stop my heart

Calling, grasping, I slowly slip
Down this path railed with chains
Walking, pushing forward I now trip
Over the scars left with the pains

I'll stay chained if I'm freed
I'll wait here when I part

Smiling, trying to win this race
Against the turning tides of life
Fighting, failing to find the place
Where this fades and ends this strife

Before I die, look upon my face
But look away from my knife


One Last Call

One last, lonely cry marks the fall
Carried by wind, it calls for the end
Of this broken life with no mend
It takes the pain, the fears, takes it all
From the losing soul to the night
Where the darkness engulfs the pain
The sweet sound, dampened by the rain,
Carries the tale of this longest fight
Where the light, long gone from this mind,
Is only thought to be the thing most cruel
Light only leads the darkened path of the fool
But in the dark, this desperate cry now does find
The rest, the peace the angels keep
From the taunted devils and their flames
At last! The cry has won its game
With tears of fires the cry does weep
It throws itself into the night
Its eternal peace it has found
One last tear; one last sad sound
Escapes with the lost eternal light
