Any of you liked that movie? I think that it was such a nicely done action movie althought it was supposed to be dramatic...story part of it is pretty good too...

But I thought that this movie was really underrated...It was such a great movie in my point of view...

not many people know this but alot of the martial arts in the movies are techniques from bujutsu and besides that fact tom cruise spent 2 years studying about the movie, the movie was ment to show the beauty of the japanese culture mainly the life of a samurai and i believe it did this extremely well besides being a very good movie

Yeah but mostly the styles I've seen Tom Cruise use is Batto-jutsu...really graceful technique...

Yes it was an extremely well done movie...

Ditto.

If you mean in terms of awards (Oscars, mebbe?), you're retarded. The Academy is full of idiot hacks, they're irrevelant.

i believe that bujutsu is the martial art of the samurai, the reason i believe that is because i train in it *4years* and i've learned everything about the samurai not just their sword work and throws but archery lifestyles etc. out of the years that i have been training the only place i have heard of "batto" is in the anime samurai x, so i'm asking if this batto-jutsu you speak of is actually real or is of a made up background

This is one of my favorite movies. Very well done, and one of the best-done soundtracks in a movie, IMO (Hans Zimmer is amazing)

i didnt mind it so much, it's one of those really underrated and overrated movies. underrated by those who hate it and overrated by those who love it. i think people got the wrong idea from the title, thinking that Cruise's character was the last samurai, when infact the title reffers to the clan that cruise joins.

the screenplay was good and the acting was pretty passable, the direction was a little overwrought but when it came to cinematography, sets and costumes i was totally blown away.

I totally agree when it comes to the sets/costumes. Amazing how much detail they took the time to put into everything.

Battōjutsu is a sword-based Japanese martial art. Generally, schools which style themselves "battojutsu ryu" emphasize the perfection of cutting technique, as opposed to iaido ryu which tend to focus on drawing/sheathing, or kenjutsu ryu which stress dueling ability.

So much for being an expert...
