Well what else can we suggest? If you're going to be that pig-headed and refuse to do the most sensible thing then you deserve not to be able to have children. This is a serious problem...you NEED to go to a doctor.

You have to see a doctor over something like that. There's nothing else you can do and if you don't you're a retard.

ooohkayyy, you've only JUST realised something was wrong?!

i'd have had a fit in case i was pregnant if i'd had missed one, let alone 18!!!

sheesh, seriously, you need medical advice... unless you don't wanna have kids and don't care what might be wrong with you. then in that case, don't.

First of all, go to the doctor.

Second of all, you basically have a chemical imbalance. My girlfriend had something extremely similar, whereas she used to get one period a year (maybe every year and a half) that lasted over a month. She was put on Birth Control to control her cycles and periods and such and now get's them regularly (once a month and such).

Yes, chances are you will still beable to have children, and I already told you what (most likely) is causing it.

If you want to fix it you basically have to get a specifically prescribed form of Birth Control - which means going to the doctor.

Its nothing to be embarrased about im sure the doctor has heard it all a thousand times before. I f you dont feel comfortable with a male doctor just ask for a female one im sure they'll understand.

If you have an eating disorder it irregulates your period.
Also, if you are extremely active (ie, you do a physical activity everyday) that can irregulate your period.

Because you refuse to go to the doctor/gyno/whomever you might want to do some online research.

ahh, ofcourse it could be a number of reasons, but i know you have to have something like at least 10% body fat for your period to be regular.. so have you lost weight recently?..it happened to my friend when she was verging on having a mild eating disorder.. we sortd her out though, and now everythings 'normal' again.

04-19-2006, 10:19 AM
yes there are laods of reasons why your periods may have stoped, like if you've lost alot of weight recently, if your strssed your body tends not to have a period, you could have an ovarian cyst, or myb cancer be these are highly unlikly considering your age, but seriously you have to go the doctor becasue it may become worse. Make sure you eat heatlhy or go bac to the way you eating before your periods stopped. Hope this helps and your periods get bac 2 normall very soon.

If you won't go to the doctor then it's very likely you're not gunna be able to have kids. There's nothing anyone can tell you except missing your period for 1 n a half years isn't a good sign.
Only the doctor can tell you what's wrong.

cud it be because im vegetarian by any chance

vindictive
04-19-2006, 04:20 PM
no coz i'm veggie and my periods are fine. it may be becasue you not gettin enough protein so make sure you get enough like eating quorn or having protein shales in the morning or protein tablets, just to be on the safe side.

Vegetarianism COULD actually be a factor if you're not eating well. You could be lacking in iron? I've also heard that eating too much soy can mess with your periods because there's oestrogen or something in it. I can't remember. It actually made my periods come more often though so I'm not sure.

I know a girl.. or lady.. whatever you want to call her. She's 20 now, but she didnt have a period for 3 years. She went to the doctors, and she can still have children. But you really need to goto the doctors if you want to find out whats up. Its the safest way.
