Goths/rockers: yes chavs may pick on you, laugh at your clothes, b*tch about your music taste, etc but i've heard alot of fellow (fellow as i am a goth) goths/rockers b*tching about chavs music taste and clothes. Ok i don't think it's right chavs pick on you but by doing all this don't you think your bringing yourself down to there level?
Chavs: Ok you might not like the way a goth dresses and the music taste (which is often WRONGLY confused with Marilyn Manson, CoF, Slipknot, etc) but there's so much more to a person than that! And for those who use the "but they evil and worship the devil" excuse - i know VERY few goths that worship the devil and most of the ones are extremely nice if you bother talking to them normally. Serious - chat to the witchy looking woman in the local so-called "halloween shop". Say "hello", "nice weather" , "i like your hair" (just don't say nice boots...lol)

Yeah, the whole "Goths vs. Chavs" thing IS stupid.
But, you know what? I rarely hear actual "fellow Goths" bitching about Chavs/Preps/whatever. Most of the people i come across who do that are those little spookykid manson and slipknot fans who just incorrectly call themselves "goths", who are obsessed with schoolyard stereotypes.
They're like "ooooh.. i hate when people judge me for what i wear.." Then they proceed to JUDGE everyone who they see dressed in "preppy" clothes or whatever. Like the little annoying clique-y hypocrits they are.
But, like i said... it doesn't seem to be about Goths as much as it's about Mansonites. But no one seems to know what the hell "Goth" is nowadays anyway.. bleh. Most self-proclaimed "Goths" these days wouldn't even know Goth if Peter Murphy kicked them in the eye with a pointy black boot.
hehehe... Nice booooots ;)

People who are goth. People who are chavs. Whatever.
You're all useless dumb fucks in the general scheme of things.

It's sad.
Why dont people just accept people for being whoever they are. Goth, Emo, Chav, Prep, Gangsta... whatever the fuck they are why does it really matter? Why bully or take the piss about clothes? If we all wore the same clothes and looked the same how fucking boring would that be!!!!!

I hear more goths bitching about chavs than the other way around.

I don't mind how people look. As long as it isnt disturbing and they don't do something to me!
For instance you would probably have a higher chance of being jumped by a guy in really baggy clothes then some person in a suit.
Sad thing is, that this creates lots of sterotypes such as what I said up there. Yet no one seems to take charge and act appropriately.... sad world.

If they both killed each other in an epic battle for control of the Earth, I'd be happy.

And most of those aren't even really Goths. They're Mansonites. :P

You people are forgetting, its a basis of opinions. Im semi goth/emo and im fine with it. I dont see goths/emos picking on chavs though, but chavs pick on everyone. Also chavs are more vandals, goths dont usually vandalise stuff. But both groups are intimdating to old ladies. So play safe kids!

well goth and emo are basically the same. Emo is just modern goth. They both have long hair, wear bondage style clothes, it is basically the same.

i just hate stereotypes in general. Most stereotypes are music genres. Such as emo,punk,goth...I'm waiting until someone starts calling people the pop rockers or indie kids. lol its so dumb.

haha yeah...Stereotypes are dumb. I like to switch up my dress style so people won't label me as anything.
Most of it is based off of music anyways. People seem amazed when this "goth" kid sitting next to them in computer class is listening to the Euro Dance internet radio stations.

You're absolutely wrong. Goth isn't the same as Emo at all.. Except that both seem to often like the color black and makeup. Most goths i know can't stand emo. I'm really into Goth, but i find emo style and music incredibly annoying.
