Yeah, but didn't the History of Violence movie have a lot of inconsistencies with the graphic novel? Shouldn't this type of list be based on faithful translations?
huh? no... then Spider-man wouldnt be ellegable, niether would V for Vendetta or Batman... every fucking comic book movie takes huge liberties, and it aint even like the plot for A History was changed. cronnenberg just cut out the fat and rubbed a little character on it. he didnt change nothin' plot wise.

I knew it, whoever told me V for Vendetta wasn't a comic is a tard.
Batman Begins was my favourite, then the X-Men movies. I couldn't be bothered figuring out what would follow.
yeah dude, it was written by a fantastic writer named Allan Moore in response to the Thatcher administration, then the Watchowski's kinda reworked it to nudge at the Bush Administration. to be honest i didnt have very high hopes for the flick, but it wasnt bad after all. my reservations were really mostly placed in the fact that the watchowski brothers were writting it, but i guess they pulled through... but still... what the fuck was with Assassins?!

Dolph Lundgren's should never count...I couldn't stand more than a half hour of it. I like the one with Tom Jane, even if others don't.

Who can't wait for X-Men 3, looks awesome.
eeehhhh... i have my reservations, Brian Singer isn't on the wheel because marvel is run by idiots, and they gave the job to the dude from Rush Hour 2... i don't need Chris Tucker in my X-Men movies... please god...

well i'm still going to see it because i loved the first two, but like i said, i'm not extatic, and i'm getting the feeling they've abandoned the Pheonix plot, as Singer mentioned he had big plans for that, and left for superman returns with those plans. oh well, hopefully if they make a fourth marvel will get thier head out of thier asses and get him back on that shit.

ever read the comic? Mike Mignola's artwork and writing are one of my biggest inspirations and influences, amazing sense of space, color and texture, and a clear talent for writing personally and with feeling, while maintaining a maccabre spooky feel and a little dash of humor.

It's Fox, not Marvel, who would be the idiots. While Marvel still has the rights to the movie, it's the production team at 20th Century Fox that has control over cast, crew, etc. And, despite the fact that Ratner's now the director, the script had been worked and reworked even before he came on board, so storywise, little has probably been changed during filming. The only thing he could possibly screw up on is the visuals...how shots are set up and edited...but looking at the trailer, I'm sure there's little to worry about. They will be cramming a lot in this movie, but the scriptwriters have been working on making it all fit well even before Ratner.

no dude i remember reading up on this, it was marvel who gave up Singer and wasn't willing to wait on him. the general feeling is, that they were pissed he was doing a DC film before X-Men, so they axed him and 20th century opted for Ratner. and believe me, the script to a movie before it's made, especially one not written by the director or a well-known screen writer and based on previously published material, especially one as well recognized as X-Men, is bound to quite a bit of change.
being a director is more than visuals. wanna know why Natalie Portman sucked so bad in Star Wars but is fine in everything else she does? it's because George Lucas couldnt direct a tour group through a hallway. directors tell the story how they want to tell it, the script is just lines for the actors to go on, and a lay-out of the plot, which is subject to change as the film is being made.

I can concede the directorial stuff (sleep deprivation inhibits rational thought,) but I've done my homework too, and it was not Marvel that gave up Singer (though I'm sure they weren't happy that his departure left the production in a lurch.) He left the project on his own, and the deals he made were through 20th Century and Fox responded in kind, terminating his deal with them. From an article on superherohype.com (http://www.superherohype.com/news/x-mennews.php?id=1836):
In March, Singer pacted with WB to direct a remake of "Logan's Run." Then in July, Singer's representatives ended longstanding talks with Fox for Singer to helm X-Men 3 and quickly completed negotiations with Warner Bros. for him to replace McG on Superman.
Eager to quickly move the movie into production, WB went so far as to make a pay-or-play offer to Singer if he'd consent to make Superman fly post-haste, says the trade. He took it, and Fox soon notified him that his deal there was over.
I can also concede that the working script is always subect to change in parts, because production and direction have to be adaptable in case something arises, but as noted by Ratner, since the part of the script that I previously mentioned was about plot and not all of the little changes that could occur, in an interview (http://www.superherohype.com/news/x-mennews.php?id=3948):
What I didn't change was the plot. The plot of this movie, in my opinion — the concepts of ''The Cure'' and the Dark Phoenix — is brilliant. What I changed were set pieces, the location of where the third act would take place, for example. Every day we were working on making the script better and when I say ''script,'' I mean the relationships among the characters and the placement of the scenes because I'm very much into transitions. When you make a film, you're not just shooting like 50 little movies. Every scene has to connect with the next. It was a much bigger canvas because it was a much more emotional story. The story — whether you're an X-Men fan or not — is very relatable. ''The Cure'' is a very strong issue.

THANK YOU BLAX345! You listed Blade, while I have never truthfully read any Blade comic books, I am aware it's based on a comic book, so I easily list it as one of my favorite. My friend has read Blade comic books and says it's pretty much on target with the comic books, so I'll take his word for it.
Also enjoyed Spider-man and X-men movies, both original and sequel in both series, and Sin City. The rest are meh, but still have yet to see Batman Begins.

.
actually what he read was probably the more recent Blade comics which are infact, based on the films. the original blade comic bares little to no resemblance to the film, Blade first showed up as a hero in the Dracula comics, then moved to his own book with very shabby results. he wore these lame puffy shirts and tight purple pants, the writting was terrible and the art was too campy for the subject matter, then David S. Goyer picked up the rights for cheap, as the book had been dead for ages, and made gold.
as for Sheppard, i retract my statement then, but still hold some reservation to this. doesnt mean i'm not gonna see it with the highest of hopes, but i wont be suprised if Chris Tucker shows up as Banshee or something (which would make perfect sense...)

I don't blame you for your skepticism, because it's completely warranted. He's a different director, so it certainly won't be the same as if Singer were directing it. We'll just have to wait and see how well it's done.
Sadly, I can see Tucker playing Banshee, though the biggest thing he has against him is that he's not Irish...

I'd say the Spiderman and Daredevil movies both suck equally.
I hate them both.
