Oh fun, The simpsons are quite lame now, i've been watching them my whole life, and the funny and quality of the shows have gone up in the drawings, but the spark it once had is gone :(
Not everyone will agree but I know there's other people whom don't find it as funny as it once was. Now they're trying to see how long they can keep it going, instead of improving the episodes, but what can they really do? It's been 17 fucking years!!!

Way to jump the shark even more, Simpsons.

i agree the show sucks now, but according to the commentaries on the dvds it is a combination of both them being on for so long and the fact that fox keeps on adding commercials to make more money during the show which equates to the show having to run short, which is another contributing factor to the show decline. They haven't had the time in the show to add the usual B stories or get more in depth with the main story. With a feature film they won't have that time constraint and can focus on a strong story.

The Simpsons still have a strong and supportive fan base and as long as they stay loyal to the show, the show will be on the air. Which might be both a good thing and a bad thing.

I'm only going to see it if the majority of the reviews are good, but currently I see it as only another marketing scheme to keep to franchise going

I don't think time constraints equal unfunny. They shoved tons of irreverant humor into the classics ten years ago, and they still have just as much time as they used to to write the scripts. The humor these days is just plain amatuerish, dragged-on, immature, and forced. It's just pathetic if they're really making up excuses. I mean, Mr.Groening, if you know your show sucks, why are you still torturing us and tainting the show's dignity by continuously and relentlessly producing terrible episodes? Oh, wait... the MONEY.
