Please answer these questions, regardless of experience in divorce.
25. Generally, how do you feel about divorce? I think it isn't a good thing, but if two people would be happier being divorced because they realized they made a mistake, they should be able to have that option. But I think that you should truly know the person you are marrying before marriage so it doesn't turn out to be a mistake. I also think that divorce should be a last resort; couples therapy, etc should be tried first.
26. Do you think divorce should be allowed and used as frequently as it is used today?
I think it should be allowed, but I think that it is bad how many times it is used (see my views in my answer to 25).
27. How do you think the situation affects the typical family? (nuclear family - parents and their offspring) I think it is bad for the children, in most cases. Obviously if one parent abused the children and that was the reason for the divorce, then that is different, but on the whole the child is losing a parent, which is not positive.
28. Do you think that different sex and ages have different affects when divorce occurs?
For the children? I think it is worst for young children who cannot understand yet, or young teens just starting to grow up and trying to find security.

Please answer these questions, regardless of experience in divorce.
25. Generally, how do you feel about divorce?
Things change in life - not everything stays the same, and peoples' feelings for one another may easily change. Therefore I don't view divorce in a negative light. Someone would not get a divorce unless it was for the best.
26. Do you think divorce should be allowed and used as frequently as it is used today?
I think divorce should be allowed, but people should first try counselling before getting a divorce.
27. How do you think the situation affects the typical family? (nuclear family - parents and their offspring)
I feel it affects people in different ways. Some people can cope with the outcomes of divorce much better than others. I personally think most studies exaggerate the effects of divorce on children.
28. Do you think that different sex and ages have different affects when divorce occurs?
Agree
Disagree
29. If you agree, how do you think the affects vary?
If a child is older when their parents divorce I think it has a greater impact on them because they have experienced both parents being together for a greater period of time compared to a younger child. A small child can't really grasp what a divorce is, and therefore I don't think they go through so much stress.
30. If you disagree, why do you think this?

Please answer these questions, regardless of experience in divorce.
25. Generally, how do you feel about divorce?
its upsetting that it happens, especially when children are involved, but its the best option say if someone in the couple is abusive, or if either person feels unsafe.
26. Do you think divorce should be allowed and used as frequently as it is used today?
it should be allowed, but not used as frequently... people dont give marriage as much thought anymore because they know they can get a divorce if they have to
27. How do you think the situation affects the typical family? (nuclear family - parents and their offspring)
depends on the age of the children, and maturity. but i think its a traumatic time for everyone involved, and shouldnt have to happen.
28. Do you think that different sex and ages have different affects when divorce occurs?
Agree
Disagree
29. If you agree, how do you think the affects vary?
if a child is say 15, they will probably react differently, to if they were 3 years old. Sex of the children could also affect the process because males tend to be more shut off about their emotions. *generalisation, i know, but its true* and females tend to be more fragile. more openly fragile, anyway.

I know that, i need as many teenage views and experiences as possible though. My project is on the effects of divorce on family members, this being mainly the children's part. This is the quickest way i could think of to get as many different views as possible, i have enough adult views as i have asked all of my friends parents and so on. I do understand that there isn't going to be adults answering this.
