Ok...well I've heard some pretty nasty shit about meat...that some men aren't able to have kids due to so many female hormones injected in the cow, pork w/e.

I'm gonna go easy on meat now...or tommorow I might end up with huge tits.

But who knows.

Would you still eat meat?

I just eat it if it tastes good, don't really give a shit where it comes from.

Last night on 60 Minutes, they showed animal cruelty in the Middle-East. They were basically torturing cows before slaughtering them. I was watching this while eating a big piece of steak.

I was eating a hotdog one day at school and my anti-animal cruelty friend was all like "Do you realize what hotdogs are made of?" I laughed and said yes and continued to eat it right in front of her.
I personally don't care.

So you think no one should eat meat? You will have to explain.
Yes. I think nobody should eat meat but that'll obviously never happen.
"Vegetarianism is a link to perfection and peace".
Animals were not put here to be used for resources. It's murder.
I mean, why should an animal have to die just for you to eat?
They can't speak or defend themselves. So many people say you need
meat for protein. Thats the lamest thing ever. Us vegans/vegetarians
survive without it. Some people I talked to said they couldn't become
a vegetarian because of the taste. I mean, what kind of reason is that?
They should actually realise what they're putting into their mouths and
know thats it's wrong.

"When I was old enough to realize all meat was killed, I saw it as an irrational way of using our power, to take a weaker thing and mutilate it. It was like the way bullies would take control of younger kids in the schoolyard." - River Phoenix.

Song.
When all our
jungles friends sleep,
we work against stream,
against them,
so when they wake,
they're damned
like the river,
mother's blood line,
until we have completely
stripped them
of their song, dance, prayer,
and language,
then replace it with ours.
How do we say 'Oh, so sorry.
Let us explain.
You must know,
this is the real world.
It's good business.
Demolition. It's progress.
Development, my pocketbook,
evolution's sake.'
You see, they don't need our
language to know we've sold
them down the river
and franchised
our own souls.
Listen.

I know a lot of people from this site complain about PETA
but I don't understand why. They're trying to make it better.

You do need meat for protein. It's not lame, it's a fact. Although, I guess you could go about it by taking a pill every day for the rest of your life. I rather the first option, thanks.
Think about this. Back in the day, when there was no electricity or houses or money or cities or whatever people had to live off the land. Take whatever resourses they could find and use them to survive. And that included killing animals. They couldn't exactly live off wheat and berries during the winter. Like it or not, the modern human being evolved from these people. We adopted their habits and their way of living.
Humans are superior to animals. We were given our intelligence to use to our advantage and use it any way we could think of to help us survive.
I still don't understand why it's wrong to put meat in my mouth. I understand it was, at one point, and animal. I know that it was killed just so I could buy it and consume it. I just don't see the point. Plants are living things, they reproduce, they give use the oxygen we need to live, but you still pull them out of the ground, killing them, and eat them for lunch. But that's okay though, right? A fly or some other annoying insect won't stop bothering you. You kill it. That, too, it perfecticaly fine. I don't see any websites promoting people not to kill plants and not to kill flys.
And as for "Vegetarianism is a link to perfection and peace", I wouldn't really consider that true, considering I good amount of arguments generate from discussion of vegetarianism.

I've seen that video. It's kind of funny. There's some truth to it, mainly in the last part.

Anyway... Here are some lyrics for your amusement. I agree with most of the sentiments. However, most vegetarians I've known appear healthy. Whatever.

Immortal Technique, "Beef and Broccoli"

Look, let me make something abundantly clear for people that are so bereft of activities that they feel like they've got to comment on every one of mine. First, being a vegetarian should never be associated with being a revolutionary or being open-minded; that's a dietary choice. If someone wants to proliferate the type of ignorance we're supposed to be fighting by thinking that; you're just fucking yourself. I don't go around promoting beef in poetry, shoving it in people's faces. I don't castigate people for not eating steak sandwiches, and I would never diss someone for being a fucking broccoli-head or living off radishes or eating grass or tofu. I like a lot of vegan cuisine, but the illogicality of expecting everyone to adopt their particular idea of what being healthy is, is just preposterous. I've seen some of you herbivores, and if you want to argue health, y'all need to eat some kind of supplement, 'cause some of y'all are so skinny it's disgusting, looking like the only hip-hop motherfuckers on Schindler's List. Being a malnutrition ass got nothing to do with being revolutionary or being on-point. I'll be damned if I let somebody else push their agenda on me. Y'know, I don't eat pork, not 'cause I'm a Muslim; I just don't really like it, but I really will fuck a bird up, and fish is good when that shit is fresh. It's like my _____ Vast Aire from Can Ox said, if you don't like the smell of burning meat, well, then get the fuck off the planet. Y'know, I don't criticize people for eating morse. Man, don't open your fucking mouth about my food, man. I like beef and broccoli, motherfucker; mind your goddamn business. Matter of fact, you know what, I'm out. I feel like some (?), a banana daiquiri, and a motherfucking beef (?).

Unique

Yep.

I'm not a heavy meat eater, I don't eat pork, and steak. I hate pork, I dunno how people can eat that. *shudders* I eat meat like lamb, oxtail, pig feet. But you need meat, need the protein.

I'm a vegetarian and I'm healthy, though. It's not like I'm a vegetarian to make people feel guilty about eating meat, either. Which people sometimes sadly mistaken and get offended before they even get to know me. It's exactly that- a dietary preference. I hate it when people think I'm going to preach to them about how bad meat is so they think they'll "beat me to it" by preaching to me about how good it is. Hypocrites, they are. I won't stop eating meat, and it's because I like the taste. Not for protein or any of that bullshit. It tastes good. I realise that when I begin to cook my meat, it was raised in terrible conditions. I realised it was probably slaughtered and it probably felt the pain. Why should that stop me from eating it? It still tastes good - food is nourishment and enjoyment nowadays (and it's more enjoyment now, I'd guess)

No River Phoenix quote will persuade me otherwise, I like meat.

(By the way - my friend Tom was a vegetarian for eleven years, then he developed some sort of cell deficiency and the course of action was eating meat. Vegetarianism is super-duper good? Kay. No adverse effects)

Anaemia. That's just because he didn't eat healthy. You can't be a stupid vegetarian, I tried it; and failed.

To clarify: You can't be a vegetarian and live off of junk food (chips, pop, pizza etc). If you don't have a healthy lifestyle to begin with don't try to become vegetarian because if vegetarianism does anything it forces you to become aware that what you eat affects you in some way.

Nobody is saying any of you HAVE to convert. We are saying that it is (assuming you eat healthy) the best thing for you, whether you want to be more fit, lose weight, or just be more healthy. We are also saying it is the considerate thing, and if you really did like animals, you would understand.

In fact, research shows that with the amount of increase happening, all people living in Britain could be veggie by 2047, and if this rate continues, Americans by 2063. So, I guess people do listen.

Well, enjoy your heart attack. :P

No, seriously, it's up to everyone whether or not they choose to eat meat. I hate it when people badger me about my dietary choices (vegan), so it seems silly to be the same way towards other people. On the other hand, people's choices are denying animals THEIR choices, so I suppose it works both ways. I don't really know much about the hormones and everything in meat but it's definitely not the healthiest of foodstuffs.

Millions of people have died (and are dying) from potentionaly curable desieases. If scientists would not be allowed to use animal testing for research of new medicines, we would have to let millions of people die, because some people love animals more than human beings.

All these cures were made from animals testing (and this is only a small list):

Chicken Pox
Cholera
Diphteria
Flu
Influenza B
Hepatitis A and B

If you can save many human lives, by testing on a few animals, what are you trying to acheve? Are you just protesting against it because it makes you feel good?

Meat eating is disgusting. I don't believe eating a corpse is the right thing, it's barbaric infact.
Then other animals shouldn't be eating meat, then. But I guess this is where religion comes into the picture, so I'll just let this one go.

No, no. I like that argument.
If a bear kills a fish to eat it, is that wrong?
Most animals kill other animals and eat them.
So, do you think animals should only eat plants? This can get rather confusing.
Because if animals have just as much right to life as humans, then I'm guessing you think of us as equal. Therefore, if you're going to get mad at other people for eating your beloved animals, then you should be mad at animals for eating other animals.

I have no problem with vegetarians. One of my best friends is a vegetarian and has been so for a long time. I just don't think you have to go telling us that we're lame for eating meat. That we're somehow bad people. I just don't think it's fair.

I don't think there's any need for you lot to get so nasty. We all have different views on things, lets just cuddle. :sweetie2:

I get the feeling that you think that I'm a grass-muncher... I'm not. I eat meat as often as I possibly can.

I have nothing against vegitarians either.
The reason I'm not a vegitarian is because it's generaly not very healthy; your body isn't built for only consuming greens, it doesn't contain all the vitamins and other vital stuff that the human body has adabted itself to, through millions of years.

Ok...well I've heard some pretty nasty shit about meat...that some men aren't able to have kids due to so many female hormones injected in the cow, pork w/e.

I'm gonna go easy on meat now...or tommorow I might end up with huge tits.

But who knows.

Would you still eat meat?

huh?

thats gross. i think thats wrong how they inject hormones into our meat or whatever. i mean that could be giving us cancer, for all we kno. ppls bodies act differently when exposed to some hormones. thats jus wrong, leave it to that.
