See I don't understand why would you only want to see the movie because of the controversy..You should see it because it shows the harshness and suffering Jesus has gone through to save us, Sorry I am very religous..
p.s. I don't want to argue. Just simply stating my opinion

I think its a good idea to make that movie. It shows the impact that was put on by Jesus's life, and how he died for us too.
Just my opinion....

Wow, didn't know this movie would be such a big family event. Anyways, I want to see it, mainly because Mel Gibson is great and this is a very ambitious project so I want to see how he executed it.

WOW, i just saw it, it IS life-changing, i've always believed in Christ, but now i just, i guess you could say really respect him and acknowledge what he went through to pay for our sins. and now when i accidentally say the Lord's name in vain, i feel really bad, and now im going to stop the habit of it.
It is definetly worth it to see it.
But then at the end of the movie, my Mom, who is Christian, but never really goes to church, was talking about how Satan was Jesus's brother at one time....
*shakes head in disbelief*

I won't be seeing it. Mostly because I don't like mel gibson - No moral objections.

When I went you could hear people sobbing all around you. I cried at like three parts. Just to know that he did that for you and to see the same people who he is dieing for mock him. Its hard to watch but God really speaks to you through it. I know that Im going to try to live for him more than I have been after seeing what he did for me.

Jesus was said to have led a spiritual life, yet from the trailers, I don't see a spiritual thing about it. All I see and hear from the reviews is how gruesome and gory and bloody it is. Epic only because it's in Latin and Aramaic.
It reminds me of Windtalkers in that way. That looked like it could be an interesting movie, and in the right hands, it would have been great. The actual story was amazing, but the movie was just a big war movie. It's okay to have an occasional war movie, but the main story of this was something else. It seems the same here. The actual story is distracted by gore and violence.

Oh so THAT's what it's called. I didn't know.
I saw it last night.. And it was quite disturbing.. can't say I really enjoyed it, but I guess we're not really meant to.
I know very little about religions and jesus and what not, so I found it kinda hard to follow. I didn't know who was who.

Yeah it wasnt made for people who werent already familar with the gosspels. Ive heard people say its on "evangalistic tool" but I dont think it would really work since the filmakers asumed you already knew you stuff. I think it searves better as a wake up call to christains.

I just saw it.. I cried 30 minutes into the movie and i couldn't stop.. The way Mel Gibson put it was so true yet no one really knew it was that harsh. I think it was an awesome movie but is definitly gory..But very true..I also went to see it with one of my friends who was jewish. He was very rude in my opinion. He told me that Jews weren't really that bad and that it was embellished. I was so angry that he could think of saying that around a group of Christians. I argued for hours with him about it.

One of the girls that I went with is a jew and she couldn't understand why the jewish community wanted it banned.. She didn't think they were depicted all that badly, she wasn't at all offended.

That's what makes me so curious. So many jewish people aren't offended by it but he was. Well he also goes around telling everyone he hates Jesus which he knows offends me greatly. He is so heartless and closeminded it upsets me.

I just saw it tonight with my mom and some friends. It was really good, but I wouldn't want to see it again. It was one of those movies that you only need to see one time. and notice I said need..I think people do need to see the movie because it really is life changing. Me, my mom and my friends were sobbing and when we walked out there was a line of people waiting to go in and they were just staring at us. It was so emotional.
I started thinking about a lot of things after I saw it. Jesus died for our sins. And you know, if he can forgive people after they have did all that to him..then why can't we forgive people for simpler things?? You know, it's really not worth holding hate in your heart for other people. And also, it makes you think that no matter what you go thru in life...it can't be as hard as those last 12 hours of Jesus....it really opened my eyes to a lot.

Yes, Jesus did lead a spiritual life but this movie isn't about Jesus's life as a whole, it's about the last twelve hours of His life.
I don't think the violence and gore distracts you from the actual story at all. The story of the movie is to show you what Jesus went through in order to save mankind from our sins. This is what he went through...and so the violence and gore is part of the story.
I saw the movie this friday and I thought it was great. Everything I heard about it was true: very sad, life-changing for the believers, and realistic.
I understand there's some controversy about the movie sparking some anti-semetic sentiments, but I don't think so. This movie is about humanity's cruelty...not the Jews' cruelty.
