I am definitely going to see it.

I am just disappointed that they made Mel Gibson take out some parts that were too "violent"

I can't wait ;/

Did you know that the guy who played Jesus actually got beaten by chains because the people hitting him missed the protective suit? Ouch.

Poor dude. It's going to be a really good movie though, and I do advise going to it. :) My guess is that it will be the cause of a great revival...more people for God.

yeah, he said he didnt mind it though, because he thought it brought him a little closer to what Jesus actually felt like. He said "i love God more than my wife and my children"

Won't be better than Willem Dafoe in Scorsese's. Mel Gibson is inept.

It's an excellent film. Very true to the Bible...I thought it was much better then any film portraying Christ (hated 'Last Temptation of Christ', personally). James Caviezel was simply brilliant. And I personally didn't think it was too violent. If you read the book of Isaiah chapter 53, it's a very graphic prophecy on what Jesus went through. However, the film is not as graphic as it really was...the Bible says that he was so badly beaten that he was unrecognizable as a man. The Romans, for example, ripped off his beard, and Mary, his mother, couldn't even recognize him.

Jim Caviezel himself went through quite a number of things during the filming. He was struck by lightning, accidently whipped twice, dislocated his shoulder on the cross, suffered from hypothermia, and Mel Gibson would on occasion accidently leave him up on the cross (there was a 'dummy Christ' that was apparently so life-like the two would get mixed up). The "street Latin" and Aramic added to it, and the lack of big name actors was a wise choice for Gibson. Maia Morgenstern, the actress who played Mary, mother of Jesus, is a Romanian Jew, whose parents and grandparents were in the Holocaust. No, the movie was not anti-Semetic...in fact, the Romans looked a lot worse than the Jews. I forget the exact line, but there was one line in the Bible on how the blood of Christ was to remain on the Jews and their children for generation (it was a controversial line that Gibson took out...only in the subtitles, however I'm sure it's still in the film). If this film, however, is anti-Semetic, then the Bible is as well...

Yea, I'd highly recommend it. Even if you're not religious.

Very excellent movie. I went to see it Thursday. I cried most of the time, and when I wasn't crying, my eyes were like, wide open with shock and terror.

I really need to read more of the bible, because I didn't know a lot of that stuff. I knew he was crucified, and that was about it. Tells how strong a christian I am.

It was a very good movie. I didnt cry as much as i thought i would but i did cry and i wanted to cry more but the tears wouldnt come because i was shocked also. . The part were hes getting beaten is very freaky. Theres a part were the chain grabed his skin and the riped it back and you see the skin come off with it. It put alot of things in perspective for me.

Still waiting to see it. How much violence a viewer can handle depends on the person. I'm ready...I've heard excellent reviews. Interesting how it was done completely in Latin and Aramaic.
