Hey guys, I kind of need help with a problem. One of my friends is really skinny, and I'm wondering if she might be anorexic. I'm not the only person who wonders, but she swears she isn't. She tells anyone who asks her that she was anorexic this summer but she got over it because she realized how stupid it was. the thing is, whenever we go out to eat she always eats less food than anyone else, or gets a smaller size than everyone else. She never eats lunch at school and she constantly worries about her body. She swears she's not anorexic, so I don't know whether to tell her parents about my worries or not. My friend wanted to tell our dance team coach and I knew that was a bad idea, so I told her I would tell my friend's mom, so now I'm sort of obliged to. Anyways, help please? :(

Couple of ideas:

1) I wouldn't worry about her not eating lunch at school or when she does eat eating less than everyone else. Depending on when her lunch at school is she might not be hungry. And you said she was thin, and from what I know about thin people it's that they usually don't eat as much as people who have some weight to them.

2) You do make legitimate points such as she's obsessing over her body. This might be a warning sign that she didn't successful kick her eating disorder. If she says something negative about her body I wouldn't say anything to deny it or encourage it.

3)Tell somebody you trust that this friend may or may not have an eating disorder but you're worried. The only one who can really help her is herself, but there are people who can help her along the way.

^ I agree...I think you should tell someone cause you don't want anything to happen to her. I used to have an eating disorder and I'd never admit it either, but I obsessed over my body, etc, and she sounds just like me.
