Hey all. I'm new to the board and had one question; why, and how, did fur make a comeback this year? Imma sista that loves flash in the wardrobe, but I'm also really in tune with animals and just don't get it.

I think the campaign that Sophie Ellis Bextor did was quite hard hitting.

i dint mind fur as long as its fake!! i cudnt wear a poor dead animal on me thats just wrong!!!

Fake is definitely better than being draped in dead beaver. Even though now, they can actually take real fur and make it look fake so we don't feel so guilty about wearing it. It's really hard to tell the difference some times.

But it's on every mag I pick-up. But noone's talking about it. Yuk! Glad ta see someone out there cares.

I GROW MY OWN FUR..... ACTUALLY I DON'T THINK FUR LOOKS GOOD ON WOMEN, BUT I'M SURE THEY ARE PRETTY WARM IN THE WINTER TIME.

i think killing other animals for the purpose of wearing them is sick, especially when there are other options for keeping warm. its not right to kill something for that sole purpose. eewie.

fur originated back when settlers and native americans killed animals for their meat, fur, organs, EVERYTHING. and that was ok because they usually used the whole animal, and fur was really the best option for staying warm. but nowadays with all our technology and new materials, wearing fur is well, savage like.

As far as hip-hop goes, I'm feeling The Roots, Dead Prez and Mos. They all have mad beats, actual music and somethin' to say --imagine that! Bahamadia's really got it going on in the lyrics, but the production could be better.

Interesting point about the Native Americans and settlers. Now I'll take a chance on grossing everyone out. The animals are raised on "farms" where they balance their entire weight on wire, isolated in cages in extreme cold. They receive no veterinary care. Finally they are killed by anal or vaginal electrocution, gassing, or neckbreaking. These are foxes, beavers, minks, and chinchillas. But we can only fool ourselves into believing that they're any different from squirrels, dogs or cats. I won't even get into the trapping aspects. I hope this look is denegrated. Until them I think I'll puke if I see one more mag cover with a celeb sporting dead animal and thinkin' she or he is sexy....please.

My coat has fur on the hood, but its fake. Its so beautiful..

I don't pay attention to fashion really...but I think fur looks completely and utterly stupid.

No offense was intentional, but if the shoe fits.

I don't like to wear fur, no. fake fur is the only acceptable one.

i dont really have any strong beliefs on the animal side of it but on the fashion side.... i'm not keen on lots of fur. it has to be used really well for me to like it. but its pretty pointless having real animal fur cause u can't take it anywhere! well i dunno about other countries but you're not allowed to bring animal products into australia so if you buy like a designer fur coat in italy you're not allowed to bring it back home!

I think satin is the best, i would feel more comfortable with that :)
