It's good to balance your diet and eat healthy but at this age, we shouldn't be that concerned about our weight. Dieting could be an unhealthy way to lose weight. Try to exercise 30 minutes a day (by walking, or anything) and eat every meal but don't stuff yourself full (it takes 20 minutes before you're body actually gives your mind the signal that you're full, so eat slowly too) in time, you may loose weight or gain it, depending on what your body really needs to do. Don't dwell on how you look too much though, just get out and have fun.

I disagree. Of course if someone does something stupid like goes on a juice diet (or whatever the latest fad diet made up by lazy overweight teenagers is) then it will be unhealthy, but a "diet" could just mean eating less crap and eating food which is better for you, in which case it definately isn't an unhealthy way to lose weight (although i agree on your other point, too many people neglect proper exercise in a weight loss program).

You're right. I eat healthily, and only have junk food very occasionally, but I'm not "On a diet" and never will be. Obviously, if I become overweight, I'll cut down on calories, but I'll lose it safely. A lot of people I know who have been on fad diets in the past now have stunted growth, health problems, and they weigh much more than they did before the diet.

And another thing - it is obviously healthy to eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day. But it's not healthy to only EVER eat fruit and vegetables! You need stuff from all the other food groups too! And the occasional pizza, burger or chocolate bar won't kill you!

Ignoring the part that makes absolutely no sense at all, the low carb or similar diets (cough Atkins) don't work. You lose weight, sure, but when you go off it, it all comes back. Plus carbs are where your body gets its energy. Studies have shown that low-carb diets cut back the energy your heart stores and can actually damage it in the long run.

I don't see how that proves that the occasional pizza will kill you. Seeing as all I said was the occasional pizza wouldn't kill you.

so you'd figured out what actually i'm talking about...that's great...anyway..what's the use of carbohydrate if people just sitting around...not moving their feet...in dis case..carbohydrate don't really been a necessity to them..that's how a Low caRb diet suit them very well..i'm not making any stereotype here..just an example

"Phyllis, stick to your diet, don't let your diet stick to you." That's a magnet I've seen on my grandmother's fridge my whole life. Strange, it's hers, and I'm the only one who seems to take it seriously.
Really, if you want to lose weight, you've got to change ur lifestyle. I've put myself on the same diet since I was six, and have never been overweight, and I give into candy cravings and it's no big deal. All you gotta do is, give your body what it wants, what it needs, and take up an aerobic sport like soccer or even GARDENING twice a week for an hour each.
There ya go.
