In the cover of darkness
I'll hide from the light
I'm too afraid to see
What I really am inside
In the cover of darkness
I'll hide from my own sight
I'm too afraid to see
What I am and
What I've become
Something deep inside of me
Tells me, "run, run"
In the cover of darkness
I'll hide from the light
I'm too afraid to see
What I really am inside
In the cover of darkness
I'll hide from my own sight
As a child I was told
I would set the world on fire
That is my only goal
And as the fire burns and
The world turns
I'll remember to take shelter
In my cover of darkness
This pain will burn like the ambers
Of the fire; eternally I am burning
In the cover of darkness
I'll hide from the light
I'm too afraid to see
What I really am inside
In the cover of darkness
I'll hide from my own sight
I'm too afraid to feel
What I know in my heart
Is right
*-*
okay tell me what you thought. the "light" represents the truth and the dark is the lie, in the poem i think you can see how its easier for the subject to hide in the 'dark' (lies) then the 'light'...idk, not my best work but some comments would be very well appriciated :)
