I don't know how different they make you , but I like them. I have an angel on my right shoulder blade, an anklet bracelet around my left ankle, and a red rose right to the right side of my pussy and the stem leads you in the right direction

I dont think they make a person differant...people usually get them because it symbolizes something about them.

It's simple - if you want a tattoo, get one. If not, don't. I got my tattoos because I like them, not so I 'stand out' from the crowd.

I like them personally. Depending on what and where they are- they can look cool, be symbolic etc.
But they look kinda crappy when you get old and they fade, but that doesnt bother me so much seeing as I could die tomorrow. Hense I went ahead and got one anyway :)

They're just body marks that represent who you are. They don't make a difference on how dangerous you are. A dude down the street who wears sweaters, has a bald head, and acts like Mr. Rogers is more like to rape or murder than a person with tattoos.

I'm not a big fan of tattoos, but I dont think that it makes you any differnt than anyone else if you have one. I actually think i might get one just because they look neat.

Tattoos were once somewhat unusual. It used to be not many people had tattoos in the sense that we do today, therefore anyone who had a tattoo used to be thought of as different. Now tattoos are so common that having one doesn't usually bring you any extra attention.
I like tattoos. I wouldn't mind having a few, but I would probably go with something small, easy to conceal. Not necessarily because I'd ever -want- to hide it, but because people tend to be somewhat judgemental, and at times having a tattoo may affect they way people view you. I've known people to be turned away from job interviews due to visible tattoos. Living is difficult enough as it is. o.o
Tattoos in general are neat, but symbolic tattoos are even better. My boyfriend has two tattoos, both symbolize major life changing events. He usually sees tattoos as desecrating one's body, but those occurances that inspired his tattoos are things he wants to carry with him for the rest of his life. He feels they are a part of him.

Tats are cool at first but what a lot of people don't relize is that tats stick with you and they end up lookin real nasty as you get older. So before getting one think of the consequnces.

A lot of times getting a tat shows your personality. But what people don't relize is that tats stick with you. As you get older the begin to look real nasty. So think about the consequenses.

I would never allow someone to stick me with a needle without first seeing it sterilized or removed from sterile packaging.
True, plenty of diseases can be spread through needles... but those diseases are more commonly associated with banging Oxycontin, not tattoo guns. I'd be willing to bet that if you go to a professional tattoo artist your chances of contracting some fucked up disease are slim. Now if the tattoo parlor itself looks trashy and unclean, then hopefully most people have enough sense to take their business elsewhere.
I have seen plenty of older men and women with nasty looking tattoos, but I have also seen quite a few older men and women with normal looking tattoos.
The way a tattoo begins to look as a person ages depends on size, location, and the condtion of said person's body. If a person is unhealthy you can be sure that as that person grows older the tattoos will begin to look unhealthy as well.

I find it stupid when someone gets a tattoo with the name of their boyfriend/girlfriend. My friend got one with his girlfriend's name and when they broke up, he made it so there was a tiger eating up her name.

Decorative or symbolic tattoos are appealing to myself. You only live once, I'd say yes to body modification anyday. - This doesn't mean I condone plastic surgery here people...

If someone really thinks about the design of their tattoo it can be quite nice. I don't like those tacky, pointless ones that a lot of people get. I'm hopefully going to get a tattoo within the next few months. I'm thinking long and hard about what I want it to be.

Look, you want the tattoo, then get it, you don't want one, then don't get it.
Me, i'm a personal fan of tattoos, and piercings, I love pain.
Tattoos desribe you, as a person.
It could be what you care about, or anything.
Just go with what you want.

Dads name and birthdate - back
Brothers name and birthdate - back
Japanese peace - right lower arm
Japanese love - left lower arm
Japanese future - right lower arm

You have no idea.
I have 14 more tattoos I want.
I dont mind the pain, in fact i would rather get tattooed than watch tv.
Its all a personal thing.
I like the idea of always having something to remember a time of my life with.

I don't think tattoos make you different, they're pretty common. I think that they're pretty cool, but I suppose they can limit some stuff like some jobs won't take you if you hav a tattoo.
They only promblem is after a while they can smudge and look a bit weird...

everybody has their own reasons for getting tattoos, personally i see them as being personal statements that define the person. I have two and in their own strange ways they mean something to me

Look, you say that people will regret them as they get older - why exactly? When they chose to get one they knew then that it would be with them for the rest of their life. I have one, on my left shoulder and Im happy that its going to be there for the rest of my life. Its a part of me now.
Someone who goes for a tattoo is aware of this fact - they way you keep stressing that its permanent sounds like you think that people dont know this.
We do, and still want one anyway. And it doesnt make you different, cause tonnes of people have them. :)

... you keep sayin that they will look gross when you get old, and make it sound like all seniors, or we/, dont like tattoos. my granfather has three tattos, and they look kool, and hes 57.
personally, i think they make a person who they are, and some ppl are as obsessed w/ them as a 15 year old prep, and clothing. no, it probably isnt a good idea to get this HUGE tattoo, becuz it will most likely be a pain as you get older, becuz ppl would judge, and beleive me when i say they hurt coming off...

I wouldn't ever get one, because I would be afraid that I would later regret it. Also, when they get old, they fade and get all yucky. I've seen some on other people that I've thought were cute though.

I want three tatoos and I know someone that has 5 already and their 17a nd they look fine but thats because he is a guy. But the big mistake he made is that he got his girlfriends(ex now) name tatooed twice. Name and then initials. But the others are awesome and I want three to represent- the up(heaven), middle(earth), and the down(hell). But I dont want them to be like flames just in that area pf my body-top, middle, bottom.
Tatoos represent something from your past, present, or future.
