I dont think so. I mean the artist draws what he or she finds beauriful, some are more "asian'' looking and some are more white.

Well its not that I meant it was racist....I was in a store and I noticed that a lot of the anime characters did not look like the people who created them.... I MEAN COME ON.... most asians have slanted eyes. But almost all anime characters have HUGE eyes... And I saw a documentry on asians and how they wanted big eyes like most americans...ect. And they were getting their eyes fixed... They showed it on MTV.

But look at the character in my avatar..... he looks white. but his name is yuki... how many white people do you know named yuki...

anyway it was just a thought. Don't get so pissed about it.

The last sentence you wrote is probably somewhat true, especially with Asian males. Asian females have nothing to be worried about because they are considered as attractive to a lot of people. Asian males on the other hand aren't really seen as attractive by many people, so maybe that's why anime characters look more white. But I don't think it's racist. The anime creators never say that the characters are full blood Japanese people. They could be caucasian people who know how to speak Japanese. But with Japanese names like Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, I think they are asian. Those are not caucasian names.

You seem to be forgetting that anime is made in Japan. Asia is a fairly big continent, and includes countries such as Russia, India and Mongolia. These countries are not associated with anime cartoons, and the people from these 3 countries all look very different. How many Russians have you seen with slanted eyes?

Also, not every anime cartoon is set in Japan. To be fair, most of the anime films that are released in other countries are either set in a fictional world, or set in america. If they were all based on Japanese culture, they would only find a market for them in Japan.

And MTV isnt the best place to get information from. just because you saw a program about a few people getting their eyes widened, doesnt mean they all sit up at night dreaming about it.

Plus you say that my saying there are few African Americans in anime is NOT your point YET you say that you are bothered that all anime characters are white. Look you either have a problem with them not being ethnic enough which can easily be explained by the fact that Japan doesn't have that much diversity OR you are bothered that they are all beautiful and not "asian" enough for you (because they don't have slanted eyes which is a rude remark) which is not a case of rasicm but just having out there standards of beauty. I think you are right about "the whiter you are the hotter you are" thing in Japan. I think they want to be pale over there. I'm not sure why they would want that, I think the paler, the less attractive. Anime is a bit weird I must admit, especially hentai. There's nothing like seeing 8 tentacles sodomizing a girl.
