Does anyone know of any good anti-virus programs, I'm scanning my computer now, and it doesn't look good.

AntiVir is one of the best free virus programs.
AntiVir is one of the best free virus programs.
Compared to Avast, Antivir feels like a cheap piece of freeware from '97.

The best Anti-Virus is to not get them in the first place.
Don't open emails you aren't expecting or don't know who they're from or what's in them.
Don't open CHAIN emails, (the ones with FWD in the subject), these leave your email address for programs called 'spyders' to scan your email address, thats why they're started and that's how you get all those unwanted emails.
Going to dodgy named websites or links, big nono. you can live without it.
As for me, with an antivirus program I used a combination, Norton Anti-Virus, Adaware, Spybot Scan + Destroy.
I also use a program called 'Hijack This' which scans your computer to find spyware and viruses that require human knowledge to properly remove.
