On one of those cheesy current affairs, they were reporting that even watching an hour of television gives us brain damage...I have watched plenty of television and it hasn't rotted my brain yet

An hour of television makes you lethargic. It also makes your attention span fall rapidly. So, not quite brain damage but enough bad stuff.
