I'm not overweight or anything(130lbs), but I know that if I keep eating the way that I do, it will catch up with me eventually. Does anyone know of a diet that actually works? Any help is greatly appreciated.

yes eating healthy will help u get into a good habit of eating healthy, and will help u in the long run. i;m not really sure of diets that actually work, becuz theres millions and millions of commecials on diets that ppl claim that they lost weight from, but u should just do little workouts in the morning, jog, and keep eating healthy!! i know the aikens diet is unhealthy though, becuz of all the meat and some ppl who were on the aikens diet can't have children [ not 2 scare u ] but u should get your heart pumping[ especially in the cold winter ] by running, and maybe going on the tredmill if u have 1 at home . but , u sound healthy, so just keep it up!!! sorry, i;m sure u excersize already but hopefullly those tips helped u somehow! LOL

Start small. Stop drinking soda all together if you drink a lot. Or just only drink water. Drink a lot more water than normal. For some people that works wonders as they drink a lot of soda.
Just cutting down calories will make you lose weight, and making your meals smaller but more frequent will help.
If you want a diet that works, and i mean an actually diet that works
TUNA AND WATER. Nothing else. Raw tuna out of the can and water. you'll shed weight like nothing. I lost 30 lbs in a month with that combined with working out.
Oh yeah, Working out helps a lot too.

how tall are you? just eat more meat and veggies, less carbs. And ration your portion sizes greatly.
it all depends on your desire to lose weight and your ability to have discipline in doing it, not the diet your on.

While i'll agree carbs play a significant role in weight gain, Atkins diet is horrible for you. It's bad for your heart.

Dex Im going to try that Tuna and Water diet you suggested I like tuna and I need to start drinking more water Ive already stopped drinking soda completely and I am now drinking those new green teas made by lipton but yeah starting the first of october I am going to follow that diet! I am 5'11 and weigh 230 pounds so I should weigh 200 in a month as long as I work out (long walks/crunches/situps) and stay active now is tuna the only thing I could eat I was thinking mixing in vegies like a salad with no salad dressing topped with the tuna and how many full glasses a water a day do u think is well the max i should drink i was thinking 6-8 a day while exercising 3 times a day ounce after breakfast ounce after lunch and ounce after dinner for say 15 mins?

first off your avator is cute. Just run, jog, or walk a mile every day, drink 8 glasses of water every day, eat the right food groups, lots of fruits and veggies, drink green tea, not a lot of junk food and stay active

Hi, I'm a Pre-Medical College student, and my biggest piece of advice is to avoid any extreem diets. You are not overweight, so drastic measures are certainly not necessary and could even be harmful. The best thing to do to stay healthy is simply to keep a well balanced diet and get plenty of exercise. Don't buy into the fad diets you see on TV, they just want your money. Be especially warry of anything that completely eliminates a particular part of your diet, such as "No-Carb" diets. These diets may work, but are almost always unhealthy. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy products, and protein (white meat and fish are best). It's even OK to eat less healthy foods occassionaly, just don't make it a habit. The best exercise for weight control (in my opinion) is running. All you need to do is run a couple miles a few times a week. However, if you hate running, don't try to force yourself to do it. The real key is to find a type of exercise that you actually enjoy (that way you actually keep it up long-term). Maybe consider getting into a sport or joining an athletic club.

Is eating only tuna and water at all healthy? I would try it, but it sounds like one of the diets where you gain all the weight back immediatly.

No, eating only tuna and water is not healthy. You will lose weight pretty fast (only if you work out a lot at the same time), but it is a drastic measure. If you need to drop a lot of weight really fast for some reason, then that would work, but I would not recommend it for normal dieting. For one thing, losing a lot of weight really fast can be bad for you in itself. Bottom line: if all you care about is losing weight, go for it; if you're actually trying to be healthy, maintain a well balanced diet.

Thanks to everyone who replied. longhorn_fraz I think I will do that, eating foods from all the food groups. I wasn't too sure about that tuna and water diet myself because it seems like you should be eating more than that.
Sparkles13, thanx for the compliment.
