I still have the LeBaron Convertable project.
3.0 liter V-6, to be supercharged.
I'd go with :

Rising Rate Regulator $70
Larger injectors $50
Bigger fuel pump $110, already installed
2.5" exhaust $110, minus downpipe.
Better trans (free), in the garage
Supercharger itself, used, $200.
spare intake plenum, (free) in the garage

That is one option.

Then, I think about my 110 horsepower Dodge Shadow.
I've already done one 2.5 n/a -> 2.5 turbo swap, I could do this one in a weekend, no doubt.

Pro's:
already been done.
Shadow is fairly light.
Would be cheap (engine $250, wiring harness $100 or so)

cons:
I'd need a transmission.

thoughts?

TURBO SHADOWS ARE COOL.... MY MOM HAD ONE AND SO DID MY FRIEND (CONVERTIBLE), THEY REALLY MOVED.

I LIKE THE LOOK OF THE SHADOW OVER THE LE BARON BUT IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A HARDCORE PROJECT I'D GO WITH THE LE BARON.

i say sell them both and get a better car for a starting point... i dont know your exact goals, but id expect them to be somewhat performance oriented...... unlike thoes two cars.. lol.

I think you're retarded, because I bought these cars so one of them could be a project.

Give me money and I'll go out and buy a better one.

it is cheaper in the long run to buy the best avaliable instead of shelling out on a restoration.
But at least with the restoration you actually get a car to play around with whereas the other route you just save and save and dont have any fun in the mean time!

Any chance of a pic of each... we dont have those things over here.

So you did the engine swap in your van? I was wondering how you get that body style with a turbo engine. Personally I would go with the Shadow, but thats only because is DESPISE LeBarons.

...Althought I did hear John Voight drove one ;)

lmao, give me your paypal addy, and i'll put in my two cents (that paypal will immediatly take as a fee...)

ok, on one hand, i like the lebaron vert project.. except its heavy, slow unless you're boosting the fug out of it.. and, face it.... lebarons dont get chicks.. lol.

if you're into sleepers (and it seems like you are) then go for it... it'll be fun.

you said you did the 2.5 turbo thing before.. just to keep learning/doing diffrent things, id try some thing else... then again, this is coming from a guy thats owned 4 of the same car and can tell you the most obsure detail about thoes cars off the top of his head.. lol.

JVPjust doesn't like LeBarons because they look like old Thunderbirds.

By "boosting the fug" out of it, I'll be shooting for 8-9 PSI, but I'd be happy with anything, really. Trust me, with 8psi I will be in the 13's, low 14's.

if you're happy with the 13s, then go for it... i dont mean that in a disrespectful or condescending way... its just i personally dont get a kick out of going 13s anymore.. i mean, the first 330, its great... but then you're just waiting to shift..

i donno, you could embarrass some mustangs with the lebaron.... but id rather start with a RWD platform myself... im just saying if you broden your horizon some, beyond the dodgeworld, you might find a more "drag oriented" style car that would work better in every way.. you seem to have your feet on the ground and your head isnt in the clouds, so im sure you realize that.. and im sure you know the limitations of your cars better then i do.. im just asking if your final goals can be met with one of the above mentioned cars... or if you're only using them out of convenience.

Yeah, I have alot of cars on my "Possible next car" list. Some of which being an older RWD nissan (I know NOTHING about them), and a Ford Aerostar :)

I would be more than happy with mid 13's. Think about it, I found this crappy old LeBaron, and cut 4 full seconds off it's 1/4 mile time.

Someone on turbododge.com turbo'd his 3.0l Dodge Spirit, and at 5lbs boost ran a 13.9! that's nuts!

MrDude_1

lmao, i almost coughed back my drink when i read ford aerostar.. lol!
i see you have a unique taste in vehicles...

if you have the time and you want to stay on this van thing, a old sedan delivery might be kinda cool..

i just googled a "ford aerostar" .... bloody hell!

Caravan

haha I'd probably pick that up, that's a scary thing.

I saw a 89-90 Dodge Caravan (Conversion van!!), red with white vinyl stripes, I almost shit myself. Shoulda left a note under the windshield wiper.

TV+Bed = awesome
