So do you believe there is a difference between loving someone and being in love with them? Post your thoughts!

Yes, I believe there is a difference. Saying "I love you" could just mean that you care about a person and saying "I'm in love with you" would be like someone you wouldn't mind spending the rest of your life with.

This is pretty obvious but, 'I Love You' is different to 'I'm in love with you' because of the 'I'm', 'in' and 'with' being added into the phrase...

I really need to get out more...

I think there's a diffrence. Loving someone is when you like someone some much you could scream. Falling in love with someone is when YOu love them so much you want to scream, and they feel they same about you.

if i say "i love you" it could be to a friend, a family member, or anyone else i care about. if i tell someone "im in love with you" it meens that i love you in like a bf gf kinda way

oh yeah you can love someone meaning u care for them and want them to be happy and want them in ur life, but u can be in love with someone meaning u cant imagine ur life with out that that person you would die without them theres a difference its just hard to tell sometimes.

Someone made this thread a while ago in Advice..

Anyways, yes there is a large difference between being in love with someone and loving them. I love my friends & my parents, that does NOT mean I am in love with them in a romantic way. I'm in love with you has a more romantic meaning then I love you.

I think it's like the opposite here.

So " am inlove with u " to me means more like " i felt in love with u at the party cuz u are handsome " for instance or like " He's sweet i think i have an eye on him " or " I like his style i might get em on leash as my boyfriend ^^ "

"I love u " well a phrase u all heard i hope, thats the most beautifull feeling people can poses and also a very mean weapon for massdestroying lol ^^ . U may say it to ur mum or dad or to ur boyfriend/girlfriend after a long relationship, but nowadays u can see that after a week or two the couple has already saying that to eachother asnothing like 20000 times a day without putting sence in it. ( I thought its the hardest word to say to another person ofcourse if u really love em.... )

In my language there are 2 different words for the phrases above.

In love with someone, is a romantic thing.
Loving someone, is something you say to friends or family.
