ok this is really stupid there is no such thing as white people hair there are white people with nappy hair and there are black people that have straight hair. And black people wash their hair and you act like they wash their hair with tree sap we wash our hair with shampoo. and like any other person and they get their hair cut anywhere they want and get many styles. So you really need to open your eyes and learn that everyones hair is pretty much the same and this whole thread is stupid I am just responding cause your ignorance disgusts me.

They can wash their hair everyday its just not smart to do so cause most black people have fine hair that drys out easily. so most wash once a week and i do that too cause my hair is curly and it is kinda dry and i wash with conditioner inbetween. and kate how can you genralize by just one person not all people do the same thing.

how about all the white people in this thread stop answering for black people...when they arent black. That would be helpful and then maybe the thread starter could get a straight answer.
btw im white so I dont know...

i knew white people who supposedly washed their hair everyday and still had a dandruff build up in it. plus one had the nerve to look at me like eww once a week. i wash and condition(deep) my hair once a week maybe more or less depends. and i have no dandruff what so ever and my hair is clean. not everyone needs to wash there hair everyday. it's time consuming anyway. i don't see how people do it. washing hair everyday strips the natural oils and moisturizers away from it. not going against those who wash their hair everyday though.
i see nothing wrong with putting gel in your hair to make it look nice. i've seen other races do it to.
i wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner(pantene and ten en one) and i get my hair done by me or if i want it cut in a style by a salon i go to whatever salon i feel is suitable enough to do my hair the way i want it.

I do think this thread is a little ignorant, but whatev. Really, its not considered healthy to "wash" your hair everyday for anyone. It can overprocess it. The haircut question is probably the most stupid thing I've ever read. Anyone can get their haicut pretty much at any salon. The only time you might need to go somewhere special would be to get a weave/extension or something to that sort - which white people do too. Their are special products for "ethnic hair" which are available everywhere. I mean havent you ever heard of Madame CJ Walker? But as with the ethnic hair products anyone can use. They can make your hair really soft.

I wasn't saying she washes it once a week I was say hardly meaning once every month in a half or more. while putting a greece like gel in her hair.
I'm still wondering why people keep replacing the word "hardly" with "week" in my post.

Well...being black myself I deal with this myself. Many black females perm their hair which means they put a chemical relaxer in their hair which straightens it. You must put this chemical relaxer in it abt every 3 months when ur roots start to get kinky. But in between relaxes u still gotta wash that hair so we normally use a shampoo formulated for our type of hair (there r beauty supply stores that focus on our type of hair) Most of time, brands like Pantene and those other "white" brands of shampoo dont really work for our hair because it was made for "white" hair which is different. Then after u wash it, u can either put it in rollers or wrap it and sit under a dryer for 45min to an hour (depending on how much hair u have). I have a sinus headache...I would go into detail..but I have a sinus headache and my head might explode.

I'm black, my hair is natural (meaning I don't relax it ) Some "white hair" products don't work on my type of hair, it's to drying, so I just have to read the ingredients on the back. I can wear my hair in any style I want to and get it cut where I want to. I don't use "grease" on my hair, I use different oils (EVO, carrot oil, etc...), shea butter and homemade stuff so I know what is actually going into my hair. I wash or no-poo (no shampoo, wash with conditioner) my hair everyday or every other day. I get out the shower shake and go. Oh the joys of having natural hair.
Your post is a little ignorant, you need to read it from some else's POV to see why some people jumped all over you.

did you get all this info from a naturally curly board cause alot of what you said i do too and i learned from that board and you are right people with black hair can use products geared for people who arnt black and i use products that are not for black people most of the time in fact i dont use any black products.
