*Excuse my bad spelling*

I just watched that movie for a second or third time, and I personally like and agree with Michael Moore. However, I was interested in what other people thought of this movie.

i found it amusing...

and i would refer to it as a film opposed to documentary, he puts too many opinion spins in for it to be counted as a documentary.

Funny of you to criticize their government when the one in Canada is corrupt as hell....
anyway
56 things were wrong about the film! Try reading this: http://www.davekopel.com/Terror/Fiftysix-Deceits-in-Fahrenheit-911.htm

"regarding the issues presented in Fahrenheit 9/11, the evidence of Bush lies is extremely thin. Moore shows Bush claiming that a particular day at the ranch in Crawford, Texas, was a working vacation, but Bush appears to be dissembling. Later, after Osama bin Laden was driven into hiding but was not captured, Bush unconvincingly claims not to spend much time thinking about bin Laden. Within Fahrenheit 9/11, most of the rest of alleged Bush administration lies actually involve Moore's fabrications to create the appearance of a lie--such as when Moore chops a Condoleezza Rice quote to make her say something when she actually said the opposite."

go rent "FarenHYPE 9/11", it shows all of his ways that he lied and deceited all of you who believe him. What I HATE most about Moore is that he pretends that he is FOR the troops, but he really is not. 90% of the armed forces is pro bush. Moore used a dead soldiers grave site in F9/11 without his family's permission and for his own sick cause. Watch Farenhype 9/11 or research this. The family was very angry that he would do that to their son and dishonor him like that. Moore also used a soldier who got his arm shot off in Iraq in his movie without his permission. The soldier was extremely angry and is for the war, he doesn;t know what Moore is trying to do by doing that to him.

and bowling for columbine is full of crap too, he says that Bin laden used his CIA training to murder 3000 people on 9/11.....the CIA nevered funded Bin Laden or trained him!!! This man makes me sick....anyone who cares to dispute me can go right ahead..

I believe the CIA did supply training to Afghans wanting to put down the Soviet regime, however, Laden never used the funding. He had enough on his own and resented western culture even when we were training them. I can source that for any who ask, however, you might need to check out your local bookstore or library to find the book.

Part of that is true, BUT we didn't train him there were 2 groups...read on:

All available evidence suggests that bin Laden was never funded, trained or armed by the CIA. Bin Laden himself has repeatedly denied that he received any American support. “Personally neither I nor my brothers saw any evidence of American help,” bin Laden told British journalist Robert Fisk in 1993. In 1996, Mr. Fisk interviewed bin Laden again. Bin Laden was equally adamant: “We were never, at any time, friends of the Americans. We knew that the Americans supported the Jews in Palestine and that they are our enemies.”

So why do so many people still beleive this? The reason that I think that many and moore believed this was:

"America financed the Afghan rebels, bin Laden was among the rebels, therefore, in one way or another, America gave money to bin Laden."

This ignores a key fact: There were two entirely separate rebellions against the Soviets, united only by a common communist enemy. One was financed by Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states and was composed of Islamic extremists who migrated from across the Muslim world. They called themselves “Arab Afghans.” Bin Laden was among them. When the Saudis agreed to match U.S. contributions dollar-for-dollar, the sheikhs insisted that their funds go exclusively to the “Arab Afghans,” possibly including bin Laden. Meanwhile, U.S. funds went exclusively to the other rebellion, which was composed of native Afghans.
Even if the CIA wanted to pay “Arab Afghans” -- which agency officials insist they did not ..bin Laden would be a far from obvious choice. Bin Laden himself rarely left the safety of Pakistan’s northwestern cities and commanded few troops of his own. At the time, bin Laden was the Arab Afghan’s quartermaster, providing food and other supplies.

Michael moore obviously has his own agenda to push, and that means he'll slander republicans of all sorts. i think team america puts it best. michael moore is a socialist pig.

anyone with half a brain could tell that farenheit contains many half truths......... i'm sure something in that movie must be fact, but much of it is not.... ur stupid if u take everything u hear for the truth.

I think it was a good film/documentary. I've only seen Fahrenheit 911 and Bowling for Columbine. I liked the latter more, but both were really good and eye-opening.

It was a masterpiece of documentary filmmaking. There wasn't one bit of false information in it, and all of you idiots who try and counter it have no backup. There is no arguing with the footage.

And why in God's name is there another thread about this?

It was a masterpiece of documentary filmmaking. There wasn't one bit of false information in it, and all of you idiots who try and counter it have no backup. There is no arguing with the footage.

And why in God's name is there another thread about this?

Here's another deceit:
2000 Election Night
"Fahrenheit 9/11 begins on election night 2000. We are first shown Al Gore rocking on stage with famous musicians and a high-spirited crowd. The conspicuous sign on stage reads "Florida Victory." Moore creates the impression that Gore was celebrating his victory in Florida. Moore's voiceover claims, "And little Stevie Wonder, he seemed so happy, like a miracle had taken place." The verb tense of past perfect ("had taken") furthers the impression that the election has been completed.

Actually, the rally took place in the early hours of election day, before polls had even opened. Gore did campaign in Florida on election day, but went home to Tennessee to await the results. The "Florida Victory" sign reflected Gore’s hopes, not any actual election results."

Moore’s editing technique of the election night segment is typical of his style: all the video clips are real clips, and nothing he says is, narrowly speaking, false. But notice how he says, "Then something called the Fox News Channel called the election in favor of the other guy…" The impression created is that the Fox call of Florida for Bush came soon after the CBS/CNN calls of Florida for Gore, and that Fox caused the other networks to change ("All of a sudden the other networks said, 'Hey, if Fox said it, it must be true.'")

Morning of 9/11
Fahrenheit mocks President Bush for continuing to read the book My Pet Goat to a classroom of elementary school children after he was told about the September 11 attacks. Actually, as reported in The New Yorker, the book was Reading Mastery 2, which contains an exercise called "The Pet Goat." The title of the book is not very important in itself, but the invented title of My Pet Goat makes it easier to ridicule Bush.

What Moore did not tell you:

Gwendolyn Tose’-Rigell, the principal of Emma E. Booker Elementary School, praised Bush’s action: "I don’t think anyone could have handled it better." "What would it have served if he had jumped out of his chair and ran out of the room?"…

She said the video doesn’t convey all that was going on in the classroom, but Bush’s presence had a calming effect and "helped us get through a very difficult day."

"Sarasota principal defends Bush from ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ portrayal," Associated Press, June 24, 2004. Also, since the President knew he was on camera, it was reasonable to expect that if he had suddenly sped out of the room, his hasty movement would have been replayed incessantly on television; leaving the room quickly might have exacerbated the national mood of panic, even if Bush had excused himself calmly.

Moore does not offer any suggestion about what the President should have done during those seven minutes, rather than staying calm for the sake of the classroom and of the public. Nor does Moore point to any way that the September 11 events might have turned out better in even the slightest way if the President had acted differently. I agree with Lee Hamilton, the Vice-Chair of the September11 Commission and a former Democratic Representative from Indiana: "Bush made the right decision in remaining calm, in not rushing out of the classroom."
