View Full Version : Will pouring boiling water onto scars remove them?

Joining the militarty and they require me submitting to having a full body inspection in a couple weeks(so they know whether or not you got any skin conditions or rashes or some shit).

I have a scar on one of my wrists and I don't want it to stand out, will pouring boiling hot water onto it remove it and replace it with third degree burn scars instead? How long do they take to heal? At least I can make an excuse for a burn scar, I can't for the one I have at the moment.

Thanks.

most likely it will. why dont you want to have the scar you have now?
and as for the healing, I dont know, but I hear a long time.
hopefully that helped.

I suggest not pouring boiling water on your wrists, as the scars from the 3rd degree burns will attract more attention than anything.

Plus, the pain will last for quite some time - there's no worse pain than a burn.

Don't be stupid.

Burn scars are easy to explain. "I accidently poured boiling water onto myself while making coffee". Simple. I can't excatly explain a single scar, can I.

Thanks for the help everyone. Made my decision.

I'd just cover it in makeup or wear a bandage.

Toughy, the boiling water MIGHT do worse. I got a nice series of gashes on my forarm, but I never get any shit about that. Hmmmmmm.

Best you could do is look up online and find out a way that way, Im sure you already have, but there must be some kind of feminine product that removes unsightly scars.

Yeah, just say that you were masturbating with barbed wire and slipped...That wouldn't be so hard to explain would it?

Well, on this one commerical I saw, it's supposed to make scars fade. Maybe, you should try buying it and trying it? It's worth a try, and less painful. I can't remember what it's called. :\ I should probally try it on my two scars.

If you use coco butter cream on your scar it will fade in time, mine did.

If you pour boiling water over it, won't you be able to see the other scar as well. Once it heals it won't cover it up.

He has to go to the inpection in a couple of weeks...That means two...Cocoa butter shit takes over a year.

If the scar is across your wrist, could you hide it with a watch or cuff or something? If not, I'd try concealer first, or else go the bandage route and make something up. Don't do the boiling water thing. :/

Your recruiter would notice it before he goes to MEPS.

I don't know what MEPS is...And he probably would've said something if the recruiter had noticed.

Military Entry Processing Station (MEPS), either way, they are going to check he wrists , and hes going to have to lie about it or not get admittance into the military. I know all about this shit.

Just say you slipped and cut yourself on a rock or something. It's not like they can prove your an emo-fuck from one cut. *thumbs up*

Why not just make up a story about how you scraped your wrist on your swing set while you were searching for terrorists in your backyard?

Helzy
07-05-2005, 12:53 PM
Exactly. Covering it up'll just get you caught out one way or another, so your best bet is to say it happened when you fell on glass or something.

Lapalori

keep the scar out of the sun to prevent any more perminent marks from the scar. it will fade better that way. Oh and if your a cutter then go to hell.

Well no but if you use a scar removal product it should be gone before you get tested

Try this: take an under-eye brightening stick and put it warm water or something to soften it up. Put it on the scar, followed by a layer of light yellow powder eye shadow, more brightener and then powder to match your skin. That's the best way to cover it up...but that might not be the best idea. Maybe just scratch your wrist with your fingernails till its just a scab and you can say you scraped it?

ok well, if your joining the military. Wich is nice in theory, but why now? Then you should be able to make up a story about playing with knives in a non-violent manner. Because tough guys play with knives, or you were working on something and you sliped.

use your head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

disregarding the matter of lying. I've gotten nasty scars from cross country. God.

Gothic-Crow
07-05-2005, 09:30 PM
btw, if they kick you out for being an emo-cutter. Well thats what they do, you know, the military actually does Not want pussies. sory.

But if you can come up with the mental fortitude to lie to their faces, tell them your tough, you got in a bar fight and thats where you got cut. Then you are the perfect man for joining the ranks, and defending the USofA.

^^^ is that good or bad? ^^^

Gothic-Crow

a scar tatoo, scar art is one of those things that is the same as regular tatoos, but wont be all cool because its quite harsh.

Did your recruiter notice it?

I go in for physical and intelligence testing before speaking with a recruiter about career paths. I don't want to fuck up my chances of acceptance because of having some worthless scar from ages ago, so i'm up for doing whatever it takes to hide it.

If I burn it off with a lighter and cover it up with a bandage, the burn I mean, are they going to become suspicious? Or will a story about being burnt accidently be sufficent? I can't take any chances, I need to get enlisted and you seem to know a bit about what they'll ask/do.

... take an under-eye brightening stick and put it warm water or something to soften it up

Can't. I can't use any sort of makeup shit as I'm required to shower and all that after completing the physical testing, so it would just wash off. I need something semipermanent.

If you pour boiling water onto scars, you could scare yourself even worse! Just because it's water, doesn't mean it can't hurt you. It's still conducts heat, and if it's too hot, it can give you a first, second, or third degree burn!

ok, I have a scar straight across my wrist, guess how i got it...i got cutjumping off a firework trailer and it cut me.

The moral, just because u have a cut dosen't mean they won't belive the bullshit lie you tell them, but if its really deep then ur fucked

Maybe an oil based creme because it won't wash off

Umm, I have ton's of scratchs on my wrist from my cat. Whenever he runs outside I usually have to pick him up to put him back in, and he usually jumps from my arms then fucking up my wrists. Id just say you got scratched by your cat or something.

i was waiting for someone to say that! but coincidentally its ironic but i have both on my left wrist i was coming down stairs on rollerblades and fell and grabbed a pole but scratched my left wrist on a nail.. then i was try to open a traveller mug that i just but boiling water into then spilt it up my right are and now theres a burn mark.. and i can guarentee the burn hurt sooo much i had to mix flour and water and put it on it.. and if you think about it if your just honest its better then having to explain why theres a burn mark over a scar..

Yea, but I actually do that instead of cutting simply because it's easy to make up a quick excuse.... I'm not saying either of them are smart though

MuseAris
07-31-2005, 04:28 AM
Well it's been more than two weeks, but for anyone else who has cuts: You should get a cream called Mederma, you can get it at any grocery store. It takes a couple of months, but your scars are gone after using it.
