Even though i thought the new batman movie looked good on the trailers, i was still sceptical that it would be another comic money spinner with no imagination e.g hulk. However i went to see it on saturday and i believe that it is the best
comic movie yet other than sin city (because i haven't seen it yet) because it engages the audience on a higher level by answering questions previously left unanswered and by entwining a darker theme not yet seen in the likes of spiderman or spiderman 2. Anyway thats my opinion; to those who have seen it what do you think???

Well, Spider-Man generally isn't a dark comic...Batman is, which is why the movie needed to be dark. It was much better than any of the other Batman films, but we shouldn't even bother comparing it to those because this is a complete revamping of the genre, an overhaul starting from scratch. I have two main complaints about the movie, though. One is the mispronounciation of Ra's al Ghul's name. In the Batman Beyond cartoon, Bruce makes it a point to correct Terry's mispronounciation of it (which was that of the movie) when Ra's daughter Talia shows up out of the blue. The other complaint deals with an important part of the movie's plot and I'm not sure I want to give it away to those that haven't seen it yet.

i thought that the reference to joker was stupid too, but i'm not sure when he came along in the original series, but as someone said b4, this is a new, revamped storyline, so if it continues, there will be changes, and will most likely follow the original storyline in the comic book series.

I have to say this movie was one of the best i've seen in long long time but i have to say that my favorite comic movie is spawn and would love to see a second one. Plus the whole joker thing is impossible because in the begining of the movie the "joker" was shot and killed therefore he can't be magically brought back and for those of you who don't know the joker is the guy who killed bruce's parents

actually, the joker isnt the guy who killed bruce's parents, that was made up later in the series, the guy who killed them was just some thug lookin for some change... yeah, this was the best movie, and i think christian bale is a good choice for the young bruce wayne, he played the part well.

I thought that Batman was amazing! I didn't like the trailers so I wasn't expecting much. It's definately my favorite out of all of them. I would LOVE it if they remade the entire series.

She was an assassin sent by Carmine Falcone. When she shoot Joe Chill (the guy that kills Bruce's parents,) if you listen closely she says "Falcone says hi"

I haven't seen it yet - but, the trailers looks good + according to the reviews I've seen and heard it's meant to be brilliant compared to the last couple of attempts. Last I check it had an 8.5 average on IMDB.

I absolutely loved it. I had high expectations for it and they paid off. Only a couple of bad points to the movie, mostly the action scenes, I know they were trying to go for the whole "when you fight batman it's like fighting a ghost" so you can't really tell what's going on. It trys to recreate that feeling that those gangsters must have felt at the docks when they were getting picked off one by one by Batman and not knowing what it was .. but god damnit I had shakey camera action scenes .. Braveheart suffered big time from this it was like "quick, people are fighting shake the hell out of the camera!"

Also I thought the ending started to get a bit far fetched for a movie that had done so well being as realistic as Batman could get.

Before I go on to the good points, I hate when this gets called a prequel - IT'S NOT. It's a complete restart to the series, I mean it doesn't even make sense if it were prequel. I mean in this one it's Joe Chill that kills Bruce's parents just like the comic books, in Batman 1989 it was Jack Napier who became the Joker, that right there just doesn't link up, plus in Batman 1989 it was the first time the city had seen or heard about Batman, it's not like Gordon would somehow completely forget he even encountered Batman between the time Batman Begins and Batman 1989 happend.
Complete restart and it's awesome.

Good points? The casting. Christian Bale was a great Bruce/Batman, people laughed at Batman's voice, but remember it's realisim people, he can't use a normal voice because that would be how Bruce talks.
Michael Caine was awesome as Alfred, he owned that role and ruled as Michael Caine usually does.
Katie Holmes .. well, she's better than any other Batman-girl has been thus far, still weak though, but she's hot so that makes up for it.
Cillian Murphy was fantastic as Crane/Scarecrow, a complete unknown made a big impact here and god damn he was hot, I'm a straight male and he made me go "whoa" :P
Liam Neeson played a great Ra's Al Ghul.

I can't wait to see what they do with the Joker in the next movie, Jack Nicholson was good, but he just wasn't fucking psycho enough, this new Joker needs to be an absolute maniac, hopefully do something to REALLY get at Batman, maybe shoot Rachael through the spine putting her in a wheelchair. It's not that far fetched seeing as in the comics Joker did this to Gordon's daughter (any of you watch that TV show Birds of Prey and see the chick in the wheel chair, well now you know how she ended up that way :P)

To me, it was surprisingly good - I saw a bunch of previews earlier and was not interested at all...but my sister made me go see it with her and I think it was pretty good. I LOVED the director: Christopher Nolan. He also did Momento (back in 2000) which was an amazing movie. Anyone see that?

how is it supposed to be pronounced ? it is pronounced the same way it is in the original batman cartoons. Ross oll ghoul

I wasn't aware that Ra's was in the 70's cartoon, but in more recent cartoons it was pronounced Raysh. In the movie they pronounce it Roz. I've talked to many comic book geeks and they all have found fault with it, but find that it's, at the very least, an acceptable trade-off for it being a good movie.
