for a night look use dark makeup and for day use light colors

ok...my hair is huge like extreeeeemely thick...it's curly but i always straighten it cause it looks better...anyway is there any way i can like thin it out without going to a salon cause i just got my hair cut today and completely forgot to ask her to thin it out (can they even do that??) soo yea any advice would be appreciated :)
