Ok, to get back to the topic at hand: I'm fond of Tsubasa Chronicle, Rurouni Kenshin, Elfen Lied, and Bleach. I like watching most anime before it reaches Cartoon Network....because the shows won't have been completely screwed over by American broadcasting if you watch the original subbed Japanese version.

I have no fondness for shows that are overhyped, however...mostly the Dragonball series and Inuyasha. I have trouble seeing anything worthwhile in those...and yes, I've seen plenty of episodes of each.

Ugh, one thing I hate more than Narutards (yes, this is an actual term for those that like Naruto, used by the fans themselves) are those that like it only when they've seen it on on Cartoon Network. That goes for a lot of other animes too. Just because it's on Cartoon Network, you all think it's something spectacular. If you think it's so great, watch it subtitled and in the original Japanese....then you can watch the 100-some odd episodes already released and don't have to wait a week for the crappily dubbed versions on Cartoon Network to come out. Sadly, I watched the dubbed version of Naruto on Cartoon Network...even though I'm told that the few episodes I watched subbed were some of the worst in the series (early to mid 60's,) they were still heads above the drivel Cartoon Network produced. It saddens me to know that people will become Narutards from just watching Cartoon Network and think it's something so great.

And, not to sound as though I'm just bagging on Naruto itself, I do have reasons for hating the dubbed version: The voicework is horrible...I hate how they try to pronounce the character's names in English. It's not fluid sounding the way they say many of the names and they even pronounce a few wrong (especially Naruto's. NA-ruto vs Na-ru-do.) And the editing...it's a series more suited for Adult Swim in terms for the amount of blood and violence....but they wanted to put in on during the mid-evening programming...it ruins a series when they edit things out that much. But that's how American broadcasting (sans Adult Swim and other time slots of that nature) does it...raping the shows.

In my opinion, yes. It's been a pretty good series for as much as I've watched of it. There's a whole bunch of anime out there...I suggest breaking away from Cartoon Network and looking into downloading the unlicensed subtitled animes.

One of the things that annoy me is that people think all they have is Cartoon Network. On Cartoon Network, yall don't get to see it the way it's meant to be seen in the original Japanese.

But like RyuuNoHi said, there's places to buy DVDs of other anime or you could always download it...downloading's usually easier, but sometimes it can take a while depending on your connection speed.

There's many good animes out there and I'm sure we could suggest a few, but probably one of my best suggestions would be to surf around http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php for a while and read the summaries of different shows and see what sounds interesting to you.

Though one thing to mention is to be aware of whether a series is licensed or unlicensed. While it may be easier to buy a licensed series (and it can get quite expensive) it might or might not be easy to locate it for download...and unlicensed series are really only available to download...

Unless your import/bootleg, and those can cost some serious money too.

Midori no Hibi I found to be cute, funny, dramatic, a great watch.

The only Live-action I truly dread seeing is the Lupin III one.

I'm trying to download all the episodes of InuYasha off BitComet. Not enough seeders and that shit downloads way to slow. Fuckasckcsajcafksd.

here are some of the animes I've seen and thought were good: Escaflowne, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Inuyasha, Ghost in the Shell, and I've just recently caught a few episodes of Samurai Champloo on Cartoon Network, and so far so good :D
