View Full Version : Should I or Should I Not (( weight problomes))

I'm am a 13 year old girl who thinks she's overweight because of my big stomach even though the doctor says it's compleatly fine. It's like I start to diet but I see a snack or some junk food that I like and I can't avoid it...so I eat it and put myself down..so it's like I can NEVER get skinny. I'm not anerexc...and no I don't starve myself..i'm 150 pounds and I want to lose 50-60 pounds by the school year summer if that is possible. It's like sometimes healthy fat free foods lie to you because they had really fat foods in it and SAY it's fat free. I'm not a big vegetable person, but I really like fruits. Should I diet & exersize or just forget it because I still get attention...and not made fun of. Help me please, or tell me some good idea's to lose weight.. i'm also a fashion freak so you can give me tips on my stomach and beaty because i'm alreaty good at fashion so I don't need help with that..thanks for your advice. One more thing, those who just want to critizise me I don't want your comment's, it doesn't hurt me, your just wasting your time. -- Unique ( May's Friend)

your goal is pretty unrealistic... going from 150-100/90? it's not going to happen in a few months. u shud relly aim 4 sumthing more realistic. but it also depends on how tall u r, and ur build. i am 114 lbs and 5ft 4. and i look rely skinny. ppl call me anorexic. so it totally depends on your build. dont judge stuff by ur weight. anyways. (srry i didnt mean 4 any of that 2 sound like i was insulting u, cuz i wasnt)

if its only ur stomach that u dont like, do excerscises that tone ur abs. (like crunches or sit ups) other excerscises u can do are lying on ur back then putting ur legs out striaght and lifting them up and putting them down as low as u can go w/out toching the floor. (those are hard at first but then they get easier). or putting ur legs near the ground while lying on ur back and criss-crossing your legs. Do repetitions of all of these.

As for the part of you always eating, always drink water. its soooo good 4 u. whenever you fell like ur hungry drink a glass of water first, wait for a few minutes and c if ur still hungry, then u can eat if u still are. water fills u up, plus sometimes when ur thirsty ur brain gets confused and thinks ur hungry, so just drink water. and dont leave the "bad" food in a visible place, or just dont buy it at all.

Well, I had the same prob. I lost 20 lbs and I weigh 115 lbs. I look better but it's hard work. I did it as if I ate junk food I wasn't supposed 2 I would ground my self from tv, computer, seeing friends etc. But aim for like 20 lbs. 60 is WAY TOO MUCH!!! I wouldn't try it. Good luck

Wow, you gyes..that's good advice...REALLY. squinty= how long did it take for you to lose that much? im may, if I did wut you did I would be 100 pounds...thats better then nothin..hahah. plus tell me EVERYTHING you did. im planning on starting my diet on Tuesday

try and take up extra exersises.whether its at home or down the gym.i used to be a similar weight to u until i took up gymnastics 3 times a week.it really helps tone up muscles spec ur arms n stomache,try dancin 4 ur legs.as far as fashion goes if uv got big boobs halter neck tops look gr8.dont go 4 role necks as they wil make u lok lyk uv got 1 big boob stuck 2 ur front.if u hav shorter legs then wedges can help by giving the image that ur legs start from ur toes.if u hav large wrists add a chunck bangle on watch it wil draw atention away from ur stomache aswell as making ur wrist lok smaller.draw atention 2 the parts of ur body that u lyk and people wont notice any floors.xxxhope i helped.4 any more advice just email me,im a fashion and beauty wiz wiv 2 much tym on my hands lol xxxx

I lost about 25 pounds last summer by walking, walking, walking, eating healthier and drinking water. I lost all that wieght the summer i stayed with my dad and his roommate couple and baby. So they all were in it with me, like they bought healthier food, water and they didnt have a vehicle so we walked EVERYWHERE! It worked, but during this school year i have gained back about 10 of it cuz my mom was pregnant and now she doesnt care what they eat. Its really hard for me becuase they eat all this junk and then i do too. I look at myself as if i was huge, which most people dont think i am. What im getting at is this post has helped me, and i also would like to tell May and Unique that when u do lose the wieght you cannot go back to ur original diet (i learned that the hard way) Also how do you drink so much water if u absolutely cannot stand it!! 5 lbs in 2 weeks thats a good goal if u can stick to it.
i found that walking outdoors is really good.
like 3 months ago i bought a treadmill exercise kinda thing for my room- i had saved for ages for it and i have literally used it like twice. walkin in the openair is fun and refreshing (sounds cheesy) but it works

its also more fun with a friend or an iPod full of music u can get inspired from!!

i also think it helps if u dont eat just before u go to bed -it always make me feel bloated-sleeping on a full stomach

I lost 50 lbs over the course of a YEAR. And I was over 200 lbs at that point, so it was a lot easier. I would shoot first, for 5 lbs. Then 10 lbs. I wouldn't ever try to reach down to 100 at your weight, just like me myself, at 160 currently - would NEVER try to reach 100. It's not realistic, and not healthy. And no, it's not better than NOTHING, because it's still extremely unhealthy.

Write down everything you eat everyday. Mix weight lifting and cardio. Watch the calorie intake, and get an excersise buddy. Be persistent. Don't try to lose more than a 1.5 per week, otherwise eventually you'll gain it ALL back and then some. Be healthy. And most of all - don't avoid sweets/junk all teh time, the key is simply PORTION CONTROL. If you avoid the stuff you love, like say chocolate for me, forever - you'll eventually binge horribly on it. So maybe let yourself have one little morsel or two a day, maybe 40 calories worth? and then leave it at that. PORTION CONTROL is really important.

That's all I can tell you. I can't stress bieng HEALTHY enough.
