My desktop is missing. I don't know where it went. I'm runnnig the internet from Task Manager right now, because I can't get my desktop to come up. I tried restarting my computer, I tried logging in with another name, and I tried starting the computer in safe mode. My desktop won't come back up. Any suggestions?

I have no idea what you mean (kinda). I guess it could be because of a virius or something, do you mean the wallpaper is gone or all the icons and stuff?
Could you show a screenshot?

:sadshake: How?
It looks like explorer just isn't starting. On your task manager, go to File -> New Task (Run...) and type explorer. See if that works for you. I just tested it on mine (ended explorer so I had no task bar, etc.., then started explorer) and it worked for me. If it does this all the time, I don't know about a long term solution.

It definitely sounds like an issue with explorer. Do you receive any error messages when your system starts up? Have you scanned for viruses? Also, what version of Windows are you running?

Try the following:
1. Go to Run and type in (or copy and paste) the following: control.exe appwiz.cpl
That should open up Add/Remove Programs.
2. In the Currently installed programs list, click Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (or whatever version listed), and then click Change/Remove.
3. Click Restore the earlier Windows configuration, and then click OK.
4. Click Yes when you are prompted to remove Internet Explorer.
5. Click Restart Windows to restart the computer.
Good luck! I hope this works for you.

My desktop is back now. I woke up this morning and logged in (I left the computer running last night) and my desktop is here. Yesterday I got rid of bearshare and installed limewire, I reinstalled trillian, got rid of Spyware Doctor, and installed ad-aware. Either way it's working now, and I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks for all of your help too.
