no i'm not a vegan,but thats because i like to have a nutrition balance.i do rarely eat meat ( i dont eat seafood nor pig though,but thats because i dont like the taste),and do not buy kfc,due to their abuse to chickens before they're slaugther

i don't wear leather,or buy purses that have cowhide

i don't wear fur coats

i don't buy from pet stores who sell puppies (the get them from puppy mils)

i don't support iams,who overfeed & keep their animals in tight closure cages

i don't support bsl which bans breeds base upon their reputation

and a donate to my local humane society

More then I need to know but cools..I was just asking because you seem to speak strongly on an animals behalf in most threads you make or reply in..But thats cool don't get me wrong..

and circuses esp. ringly bros. (spelling?),greyhound/horse racing, i don't support those neither

I mean people say oh just because you eat meat means your not a ''true'' animal lover.I mean I feel bad,but as long as I know that the animals are humanely slaughter & not mistreated in any way,I'll eat those, but its still kinda cruel because its a life.

Yeah,its still fine though...Someone can still love animals and eat meat..Its only opinions that those people make about you.And if you want to continue to post about what you believe then go for it lol I will read it but you can stop posting about this topic whenever you'd like.. :)

And its not like animals don't eat animals,and we're mammals with teeth so I mean we're suppose to.

but puppy mills sicken me,i watch a clip and the first 2 minutes i'm in tears.

i can't believe even after soem people are educated on the fact of puppy mills,they still buy a puppy from a pet store!

i'm not a peta worshipper,but they have this clip on puppy mills that would make you understand why i feel this way.

my friend got a dog from a pet store and her puppy died 6months later,sure she got another dog from the pet store,but thats not going to replace the life & what she had to go through grieving over her dog.

some health checks are bogus.they overpack dogs in cages,never socialize which leads to nervous & aggressive dogs.some cases dogs died because of beinging neglected of food or water,or the other dogs they were kept with didn't share & the pet store owner did nothing to prevent this.some are in wire cages,where the bottom of the cages are wire,which hurts their paws,but what really pisses me off is not the irresponsiblity of pet stores,not of what happen to the puppies,but the parents

the parents are breed,year after year,after year,nonstop,until death,are kept in small cages,never socialize,never walked,never exercised,never had contact with humans,some living with their own feces,i mean dogs chewing off their legs,going around in circles,going crazy.in cages with aggressive dogs which take role of alpha dog & hence the other dog never gets his share of food,some with fleas,ticks,heartworm,maggots,malnurish,with matts,diseases,ear mites,in hot humid weather,in cold freezing weather,outside in the rain,inside without a/c,its just ugh.

i mean shetlers do sometimes have purebreeds if it means that much to you that you NEED to have a purebreed,or get it from a breeder (not a backyard breeder that has no health checks & breeds dogs for money),but a pet store.sure the puppies are heathly,young,but what about their parents,and until people stop support pet stores,puppy mills are still going to be in existence.

if you watch animal cops or a peta clip of a puppy mill,it might not affect you as it probably did me,but i mean if you could watch that & still feel the same about pet stores,i don't know how you could live with that image in your mind & feel nothing of it.

i'm not saying ALL pet stores are bad,just the one that stocks puppies (and not the ones that sometimes do adoption,the one's that gets new purebreed dogs weekly)

and at a shetler is so much inexpensive than spending $600 on a dog who's probably contracted parvo or something,i mean these dogs aren't check for kennel cough & vaccine like shetler dogs,and people bring their dogs around pet store puppies and their dogs might have parvo or something,and then the pet store puppies catch parvo.when at a shetler they make sure your dog is vaccine before meeting a shetler dog.

Point made..I do think animals get mistreated at pet stores.The only place I will buy an animal is from the actual home where they were born/and where the mother is..At least that way you know they are treated with care,and being treated as if they were their own pet already..I have been to some mall pet stores and most the time the cages are clean and well taken care of but there is that one time where they are basically playing in their own filth which is far beyond cruel..

Dogs in shelters (like you said up top) they are from people dropping off the pets that they don't want anymore or ones that got from the streets and when someone goes to purchase an animal from them the pet is usually aggressive from being mistreated by their previous owners and by some at the shelter..I think people in control of the stores should never let animals be abused but it seems people attend the more "important"problems within a city..

yea but sadly the dogs that agressive or not fit for a family,they get put to sleep at shetlers.


but even though if some pet stores do keep proper maintence of their puppies,the parents usually live in horrible conditions.

and the thing about shetlers that i like is they check your background,and make sure that they go to a good home,pet stores don't even care if they go to a dog lab,just was long as they get their money,all that doesn't care.
