she made her mind up
and left her life behind
she didn't really want to
but she thought she'd do just fine
after a while
when it all sank in
she wondered what she was thinking
and why she didn't listen
she needs what she lost
and doesn't need what she's gained
she's spinning out of control,
but choices can't be rearranged
all she wanted was to run from those tears
to say goodbye, and drive away her fears
and they've caught up to her now
now that she's done
the tears are falling, and its just begun
she wants to see smiles
and not be so afraid
she wants to find a way
to make the pain fly away
she wants to see her name up in lights
maybe then she'll be alright
til then she'll have to keep fighting
she's gotta take her broken life
and do some reuniting
she has to learn to wipe away her tears
and not to blame everyone
and make excuses for her fears
yeah, someday she'll fly away
but until then
she'll just have to face today..
