How do u straighten ur hair with a flat iron? And how long does it usually take? I have never straightened my hair before (it's already kind of straight but i would like it to be straighter) and i have no idea how to go about it.

First you have to buy a flat iron...I use a conair one...
Second...let it heat up all the way...if its only a lil hot you may have to repeat all the work you gonna do
Third...separate you hair into sections...I do 4 sections...and then separate those sections into more sections...
Fourth...just straighten it...go slow when u actually pull the hair through the iron so that it gets all the heat...

Or at least thats how I do it...when I use a flat iron...I usually just use my curling iron to straighten and curl the ends...that works better for me...

Take the flat iron plug it in....lol...

Then you brush the hair out. You can buy products that make your hair stronger and with hold the heat.

Take little strands at a time and glide the straightner down your hair, dont touch your scalp with it.

Then unplug it and let it cool down

Then spray your hair with silk therapy or other products to make your hair shiny. And your off. I like to hair spray it a little too.

My mom is a hairdresser. And I flat iron my hair everyday.

I dont use a Flat iron..i use just a normal iron,yes i no its killer on ur hair but w.e! u can do it my way part ur hate in 3 sections bottom,middle and crown put the middle n crown in a hair thingy n take the flat iron n grab it buy the roots n pull down all the way to the end of ur hair....then take down the middle sections n do it to that section n then do it to the crown...it usally takes me 20-30 minutes to do my hair...if u want to use an iron do the same thing but donw forget to get a towel n hold ur hair up on a towl n iron ur hair....this is way hard but works better i think...but it takes practise! iightz hope i helped! :) GREENMONSTER!

Let it heat up completely. Pull your hair up, let the bottom layer of hair come down. Straighten it. Gradually pull more hair down and straigten it. Do it by sections and layers.

hey i flat iron my hair like every day cause my hair is wavy. if your hair is long it shouldnt take that long but if its long itll take a while. if you dont want to mess up your hair you an HEAT PROTECTION STRAIGHTING SERUM itll cost you about 9 bucks at Sally's Beauty Supply but its worth it. buy a ceramic flat iron about 40 to 60 bucks at sallys too. they work so much better tha the cheaper one than grab about two to three inches of har and straighten. after oyur done you hsould put shine serum in it it will look awesome hope i helped bye

I use a regular iron,i have a flat iron but it takes soo long to straighten and i find if i use the regular iron, it straightens better. I dont have any problems with fried hair like my friends do.
