They do damage your hair. Well at least according to my hair stylist. The chemicals in them (ie alcohol) corrode the hair folicles and weaken the strands. I try to stay away from them as much as possible. If you do use them wash you hair as soon as you can to get them off your hair.

Yes, they damage your hair especially those which contain alcohol.
