Everyone thinks the bad guy in the movie was Denzel, but he was not, he was the one getting rid of the big dogs, the new rookie guy was the bad one, unintentional or not.
They made it like this on purpose, to make people think, which is why Denzel is one of my favorite actors.
His best movies are, The Siege, Training Day, John Q.
Nah, Harris (Denzel) planned all along to use Hoyt (Ethan Hawke?) to murder the drug dealer, skim money off the bundle they found, and then to kill him off once his usefulness had ended. He was a psychopath. He didn't have any friends, only temporary strategic alliances for business purposes (or for the purpose of getting his rocks off). He was in it for himself. Denzel did a kickass job in this movie, the character he portrayed was quite an actor as well. It was quite chilling when only a few hours earlier, he was hangin out with the drug dealer and drinking his liquor, and then shotguns him to death. I guess being in dept to the russian mafia to the tune of one million dollars will do that to a person.
