Don't use the word "gormless". It's a terribly unpoetic word to begin with, but considering that all the other words you used were much more simple and direct, something like that sticks out way too much.

Other than that, it's decent.

I like it. It's thought-provoking, and the final line possesses an intriguing, cryptic quality. However, with regard to the word "gormless", I agree with Aibohphobia - it does seem rather out of place.
