Looking through a child's eyes
They can see no pain or lies.
They're eyes behold a sense of content
A feeling of happiness that was meant
To be in their possession wherever they went
Knowing no sadness could ever be spent.
A child's eyes holds a sense of trust
Doing what they can and must.
A child's eyes show a pefect land
Always a shoulder to lean on, a helping hand.
Their eyes could not see the death and loss
Not seeing a life pass by as a simple trash to toss.
In a child's eyes, life's innocent and and carefree
They cannot see the pain I see.
How I long to have these wonderful eyes
Escape the world of mourning and cries.
If I could leave for just a little bit
Walk away from the feeling, the need to quit.
Leave the need to give in to this mourning and pain
Be released from this life so full of shame.
Escape the cage filled with many sad thoughts
To flee the land where everything rots.
In a child's eyes I could be happy once more
Be in a land of sweetness and smile galore.
In a child's eyes I could no longer feel so alone
Just concentrate on a sweet sugar cone.
I'd think just like a child does
Love just like a child does.
I could no longer face the worries I do now
Forget the loss and sadness somehow.
I could love myself like I had before...
Before I closed you out, before I shut the door.
Maybe I could walk out of death's lane...
If I only had these eyes to be happy again.
