Does anyone know about the war of the worlds movie thats being made? Apparently Tom Cruise and Stephen Spielberg re making it??

My housemate mentioned it to me when we went to see chronicles of riddick on wednesday but he didnt know any more than that. I have asked around and none seesmto have heard of it.

Incidently if your intrested and have an Orange fone you can get free tickets for the cinema in the uk. I'm not too sure how coz I'm not on orange but my housemate is, a quick text he flashed his phone at the girl and paid for popcorn instead of my ticket but I got in anyway :>

I like the old War of the Worlds, but I haven't heard of any remake. It'll probably suck...

I'm not so sure it'll suck. Have you seen star wars epsode 2? The trade federation robots are all very war of the worldsesque.

They move well and alright there not wuite the same but its basically a pod on tripod legs - whcih is how I always imagined the aliens. The old movie was trite they should never have bneen able to fly.

I hope its truer to H.G. than it is to Orson.

i liked the original one, but if spielberg is directing then i will most likely go see it. spielberg is my favorite director so i will watch any film he makes

Ditto! this is the first I have heard of it but I would love to see it if its done right. And I would think SS would be the man to do it.
