Anyone know how to program ones of these for a tv?
God. I can take a stereo, a dvd player, and (almost) a car apart, but I can't program a remote control!!!!

you know what annoys me? people that hunt for the remote control for 10 minutes rather than change the tv manually.

Dundee, if you're still looking to program one let me know. I program them all the time for myself and friends. It's really pretty easy but all models are different. First off it has to support the brand your working which which most support all major brands. There are codes for each brand so it can "communicate" with your TV/VCR/DVD/Stereo or what ever else your trying to program in. I think all codes are the same.

I just bought a new universal the one for my TV wore out (I thought). I specificly bought the same brand remote as my TV so it would control all my TVs' functions. For some reason it won't control the menu and sleep timer. Last night before I went to bed I couldn't get my OEM remote to work, so I decided to take it apart. I did and I cleaned behind the keypad, it's back to working fine. Only problem is I broke two of the posts that hold the top and bottom together.

Now, I am stuck with a remote I don't need. I could probably return it to Wal-Mart because they have a pretty good return policy. The receipt is laying around some where, I hope. I'm flagged at Wal-Mart for always returning stuff w/o a receipt. Those god dam computers. :(
