Question I just wanted to know, Does technology affect your kids ? In religion class I read a book that made technology look bad. It given questions like: A child would play 2 hours of video games ( for the record the game has guns in it ), they made it seem that the child would end up a terroist.
;) However i disagree........ what a child watches doesnt predict their life. You as a parent should teach your child right from wrong so when the child gets in the situation, the child would remember what he or she was taught.
Do you agree , or disagree.
:spin: :( :) :D  ;p ;) :rolleye:

i find that playing violent games is actually a really good stress relief, where as if i didnt i probably would climb to the top of a watchtower and open fire(j/k) but seriously games are a good way to get rid of pent up aggresion.

Playing violent video games keeps people from doing those things in real life.. ;)
Or, maybe... I don't know. I have a friend who's so hooked on EverQuest, he doesn't even know who he is in real life.

Technology is the devil. It will be all of our demise.

um ok then each to their own (cuckoo)
In my opinion the only way technology (i.e. computer games) can affect children is in the way it now dominates a lot of kid's lives....so rather than lead the active life children used to, they would now prefer to sit in with a ps2/x-box/pc whatever. But hey, it was inevitable anyway...as technnology advances people have to do less and less in all aspects of life, so what's the difference...

It depends on the person.
Some people try and mimic everything they see.
Others play the games, and that's just it playing a game.

You won't be saying that when your precious toaster oven turns on you.

I play Vice City, and I LOVE running people over while going 80 miles per hour but of someone has the nerve to ding my car when I'm running a redlight I get out and shoot them in the face from a foot away with an assault rifle. But that doesn't mean I'm gonna do it in real life.

My Opioion- First of all religion hates technology as it is so dissmiss all things about tech you learn in religion class. Second tech does affect children for the better not for the worse because it gives kids an outlet and a way to communicate with people similiar to them. Question: Has your toaster made you hurt anyone? Thats Technology
Thanks DLZ
You felt a need to revive this thread just to say that?

of course it effects them, but i dont think it promotes violence in any ways. Soda pop effects kids. Cats effect kids.
