Another glossy college brochure arrived in the mail today.
This one's from Vanderbilt.
The name alone evokes images of
red-brick dorm rooms and well-endowed libraries
nestled among pine trees and downtown coffee shops.
Ah, sweet college.
As someone with plenty of [i]potential,
I get asked the questions more and more these days:
"Where will you go?"
"what will you major in?"
Can I major in Undecided?
So many options are splayed in front of me
and yet I sink in my own indecisiveness.
For now I'll just tack another campus poster on my wall,
read another Princeton Review,
and be content knowing that even if I'm not
on the Forbes list or Fortune 500,
I'll be someone.
And that's all that matters.

I actually liked it, Bethany. It was *not* in any means sucky to me. I enjoyed reading it, which was a key. I actually found myself re-reading it a third and fourth time, trying to suck in extra details from it. The images were good.

I think you understimate your talent Bethany. In my eyes, you took an, as you said, not so poetic subject, and turned it into a poem that I think turned out fairly decently.

I enjoy your writing. Always have. And this is no exception.

I really liked it. I didn't think I would relate to it very well, but, I did. I'm just going into highschool, and I actually have a choice between 3 highscools to go to. And, I still haven't decided completely. I thought it was excellent.

As poisened_eternity sais, you took a subject that isn't usually poetic, and yurned it into poetry.

Again, excellent!
