finding the truth
7/3/2004

i'm lost in the figments of my imagination
this manifestation takes me to the corner of my room
where I sit and think about the truth and what I don't know
i want to know what to do, where to go
maybe the world will show me that there is an immaculate beauty
behind the blanket of impartible immorality

jump a train to Baton Rouge
find that girl that I knew in highschool
she could teach me a thing or two about love
maybe i'll learn compassion
maybe i'll learn that i'm just cold
learn that the world holds the secrets untold
i'll go back to Ann Arbor with a figment of truth
with a number in my pocket and a note that says
see ya soon

the truth is overrated
everyone wants it but they grab for the lies
as it's dumped out in a box of alibis and failed second tries
nobody likes it
turns out it's an imitation of happiness
searching for it in a glass of whiskey
think you just missed it
as you leave that big city
you sensed it was somewhere in the shadows of that little girl who followed her mother, pulling her suitcase into a taxi
feeling like a fish in an aquarium with everyone tapping
warning signs blinking, my sanity sinking
a guy on 5th was holding up a sign that read,
"I'm Guilty"
mom called yesterday to say that she missed me

i think i'll disappear to Catalina
everyone there seems happy
i'll ride my bike through the town
forget about the windy city
yeah I left my beauty
i hope one day she'll forgive me
she may be busy
already forgetting
thanks to the midnight
for it's momentous setting
thanks to the midnight hours
to the truth and still believing

I like it. It's a little bit long so I found some parts to drag just a bit. For the most part it was a good poem...... Bravo
