The first computer I went online with was years ago. It was my Aunt's. It had (I think) Windows 95, 166 Mhz. Then I bought my own computer, it had Windows 3.1. Lol! I never got online with it then. Then we got a computer with Windows 98, 200 mhz.
Finally... we have a decent computer.

I'm sure we had a computer that didn't even run on Windows... It was a "Bull" one or something, all you could do on it was type and the monitor was yellow and black...
First real computer though had Windows 3.1 and was the biggest shed of a machine you'll ever encounter.
I'm on my 4th PC now. :D

how fast and far have computers come people. take a minute to stop and think about that before you complain about lagging on the internet.

My parents were printers at the time and when I was young I hate to admit it but Macintosh did have the upper hand on applications (well commercial applications).
I used to cop all the computers once they got new ones so myt computer history was
Mac Classic (I was like 4 years old)
Mac LC2 (can't remember age but that was my first colour screen)
Mac Quadra (This was a big machine! it had a CD reader in it instead of just a floppy disk)
Mac Performer (I don't know too much performence difference between this and the quadra
Mac Power PC (I never really used this one much. My dad paid a real lot of money for this computer but by the time it was considered useless I was using my first PC)
Pentium 1 166 mhz. (This computer couldn't even play an MP3 without the turbo button pressed in)
At this stage the mac was still the primary computer of the house so I used to go to my grandfathers and use his almighty pentium 2. This was in 1998.
In 2000 dad baught a Pentium 3 but I never really used this I baught my first computer with my own money in mid 2000.
An AMD Athlon 1000 40 gb hdd, 256 mb ram, GeForce 2 32 meg video
Now i'm running an Athlon 64 =)

I had some shitty Compaq, and windows 3.1, shortly replaced with windows 95, which I installed myself, proudly. My dad got it for me when he forgot my 4th birthday and felt guilty. I switched to mac a few years ago. Let's see, 2 compaqs, 1 dell, 2 macs, in that order.

A PIII machine from Gateway.64MB of RAM, a RIVA TNT2 card with 8 megs of RAM, 17-inch monitor that I still use to this day. 10GB hard disk. It was beautiful, played Total Annihilation like a CHAMP.
