I would definitely build my own. And you can bet your ass that it wouldn't be needing any upgrades for a LOOONG time lol

kerplunk

lol

I'd have to go with the

Quad 3.06 GHz Intel Xeon processor
4GB Rambus ram
Quad 76gb SCSI 15k hard drives

yeah, that'd be ok

I'll just say I would use it on what Aaron said he would. Because it sounds pretty good, and he knows more than me!

personally, I'd go with Intel 33mhz 80386 CPU
32 megs of RAM
750mb HDD
256k video ram.

quad 64-bit processor server with multiple water cooling systems, so i could overclock.
according speed ram, 3GB+, with cooling(so i could overclock to operate with the overclocked processors).
premium video card(in all likelyhood, nvidia), preferably with 512MB of DDR(or RD, i'm not too picky) RAM. probably would put cooling on so it could be overclocked, as well. dual vga and tv-out.
7.1 Surround System with accompanying capable sound card(with the issues i've been currently having, not sure if i'm going to specifically trust Creative Labs and their crappy drivers).
TV Tuner that supports digital cable/satellite and remote, probably will be overclocked so it will operate faster.
2 24" LCD monitors that support relatively maximum resolutions, used with the dual vga.
2(or more, depending on cost) 200GB SCSI hard drives.
DVD+RAM drive, DVD+RW drive(any faster than what i currently have), and 52x CD-RW drive.
a server-case that i'd mod myself.
FLOPPY, because floppy drives are more than useful. probably also Zip drive and/or the latest SuperDisk drive.
1000W power.
1GB LAN, with accompanying hub/switch.
wireless networking to my laptop.
lots of sound-proofing for the case.
Dualboot of Windows XP 64-bit/MediaCenter with whichever Linux/BSD distro supports my hardware.
probably a new webcam.
better headset.
get my keyboard and mouse cleaned.

built myself.

You know that I posted that on 04-29-2003?

What is even sadder here, is that Intel just released their P4 processor with 3.4 GHz and it is already available for sale.

If I'd had $10,000 to spend I'd buy the same computer as Aaron because he's smart like that. (Hehe)
