over where I live "preps" are considered rich, snobby brats who go to places like Gonzaga...really hard to explain...lol

They can't really be considered "preps" if they're in Harvard or Yale... because it seems to me that the term "preps" started in order to describe the rich, snobby kids who could afford to go to preparatory high schools so they could get into a college like Harvard or Yale.

Labels are just stupid. I know a few kids who go to prep schools and while they have the money, they don't have the stereotyped rich, spoiled kid attitude. And I know plenty of kids that go to my school who are definitely spoiled brats. Then again, my school basically is a prep school, but it's public, so it's not entirely full of rich kids.
