Is anyone else obsessed with this Canadian Teen Drama? I am. It's canadian but Americans can see it on Noggin, or The-N, whatever you would like to call it. This Teen Drama is basically about a bunch of teens dealing with Real teen issues. Like, Rape, Cutting, Sex, Homosexuality, Alcohol, etc. You won't see nothing like this on "Lizzie McGuire" or any other Television show. This show is currently on it's third season in the USA when the last 10 episodes of season 3 start airing on June 4, 2004. The last episode of season 3 aired in Canada back in April, now they get to start over with season 3. Personally, i like Ellie, Paige, Emma & Manny. I don't like any of the males, but Jimmy is ok.
P.S. I have my own Fan Site (www.intoxicatingdegrassi.tk)
Please give it a quick look and sign the guestbook! :D
I found it kinda interesting though theyre not showing it here atm as far as I know.

Manny is such a *****…it's incredibly hard to like any of them, but I guess that makes it somewhat realistic in that aspect, but otherwise it is sooo cheezy.
you can't fit an issue like cutting into a half hour drama, or hour i don't remember but that is such a serious issue, and you don't start cutting yourself one day and then automatically stop after you realize the error of your ways.

I LOOOOVE Degrassi! It is my favorite show and I am SOOOO excited for the next season!!! The new episodes start here on June 4th, which is only 11 days away! Woohoo!
My favorite characters are Marco, Ellie, and Ashley. Marco, beacuse 1) he's cute 2) he's different and struggling with a common issue that many people I know face each and every day. Ashley, I think I like her better as a goth chick but mostly because she's really sweet and cares about her friends although Paige can be a b---- to her sometimes. And Ellie, well, she's just cool and reminds me a lot of myself.
I think Degrassi features issues that kids are actually going through today, serious and life affecting ones that interest and educate the viewer. My favorite episode is either where Craig's father dies (morbid, I know :drunk:) or where Ellie becomes a cutter.

Degrassi is my FAVORITE tv show right now. Those Canadians can sure make a great show. This is no Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, or any other corny high school drama. They deal with so many more REAL topics, and build *real* characters with *real* emotions. Ugh, I could go on and on and on, but i'll stop.. If you don't watch it already, PLEASE check it out on The-N!!! You WILL be obsessed very soon!

Oh how to explain the episode "Whisper to a Scream" where Ellie starts cutting. The episode may seem like one or two days, but really, it's two weeks. Because in the sub-plot when Terri is finding the roses on her locker she says to Hazel "It's been going on for 2 weeks". So Ellie has been cutting herself for a little more than 2 weeks. And at the end where Ellie is talking to Ms. Sauve, the counselor, they never mention her stopped cutting, so it could still be going on. Hopefully there's an upcoming episode that goes further into this issue. Also, why does it have to be the gothic person cutting? lol.

My favorite episode is "How Soon Is Now?", the one where it's 6 months after Paige has been raped and her rapist, Dean, comes back to Degrassi Community School for a basketball game. The episode is one of the most emotional and I found myself crying, even though I'm a boy, I just couldn't help it. That part was so sweet when JT tries to beat up Dean. Such a good episode. My other favorite episodes are "Whisper to A Scream", where Ellie cuts, "U Got The Look" where Manny starts dressing ****ty, "Take My Breath Away" where Manny & Craig go on their first date, and parts one and two of "Shout" where Paige gets raped. The best ending definently goes to "Against All Odds" where Emma calls Manny the "School ****".

Wow, you guys must really love it. I watch it sometimes but it seems like a preppy show trying to fake depression and shit. I don't sit in front of the tv alot so I'm not as obsessed as all you are.

I had never even heard of the N untill about 2 years ago. it used to be, you couldent get it on the west coast, unless you had a dish, but now you can get it. I am tottaly obsesed with degrassi and all the other shows on Noggin for that matter. my friends dont get it. they think the show is "a lame attempt at tackiling real issues with bad acting and poorly writen scripts" as one of my friends said. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! :hyper: :crazyis:  :heybaby:
sorry about all the smilies... I was just in the mood.

Of course they are trying to fake depression. The kids aren't really depressed. They are actors. People aren't really going to go out and cry and become depressed so they can do a stupid episode. It's called a performance.
And yes, we are obsessed. And yes, we are proud.

The-N doesn't plan on airing "Accidents Will Happen" because it deals with teenage pregnancy and it's too controversial.

When it comes to teen shows, Canada excells.
And this is the only time where Canada will excel in anything...
I'm a fan of Degrassi myself. But I like 'Radio Free Roscoe' a lot more. :)

I love Degrassi now. The first few times I saw it I thought it was iffy. But now that they're older I love it. I'm addicted. My favorite storyline is Marco and Dillyn. I just think it's intriguing and cool. I've never seen a teen show portray gay people that realistically.
