"summer rain" it's a little jumpy. i'll edit later.

I told you summer rain reminded me of your name
you whispered softly in my ear, would you like to taste the rain?
we drove through the mountains
colorado got me thinkin of those days
when I used to sit outside at night and listen to the rain

you told me my eyes reminded you of the sky
I looked at the horizon as the time it passed us by
we kept driving as I listened to you humming
what a lovely sound like that day in july when I knew that you were coming
blue eyes dreaming on that day in july
you won't forget
i couldn't pretend
i looked you in the eyes
i waved goodbye to what I knew
I kissed you on the lips and said, 'I think I'm falling in love with you,'
i really meant it though i was confused
you hesitated in this frozen moment, not sure what to do
but you looked in my eyes again and somehow saw the truth

our hearts started freezin in that cold winter season
it was hard to keep it beating
when I heard that you were leaving
in february it snowed every day you were gone
but once the ice started melting
you realized you were bleeding
and we knew where we both belonged

i sat in the rain trying to get back what I lost
I waited under the blue sky that I knew you were thinking of
and all the while
I kept saying all I need to do is try a little harder
just think a little smarter
my heart only beats faster when i'm thinking of you
maybe those words I used to say before will bring you back to me
things always change from how they're suppose to be
next time it will be better
we'll do it both together
you can't predict the weather
but I need the rain

I like this. I like how it sort-of reminds me of a song, and I also like how it seems to inadvertently rhyme at times. I'm not typically a fan of rhyming, but I think you pulled it off well in this one. I think it's very good.
