Ok ok, I know for those in the states this movie has been out ages, but it's been out for under a month here so please forgive me for being a little late on the scene.

Is anyone else feeling a little peeved about this film? All the hype and it's not really that funny. Graphically awesome and a good contender to the original few... Toy Story etc... but plot wise more of a wet blanket than a smash movie.

Ok yeah, I know, this movie is for kids. It's got a U cert and the kids love it, but look at Toy Story 1 and 2. Even A Bugs Life was good for plot. Adult ideas in childrens format but mixing the two to create a storyline which kids will love and will even bring a smile to adults faces. Finding Nemo, in my opinion sucked for one reason and one reason only. THERE WAS NO DEATHS!!!

lol no, i'm kidding, but really... the movie lacked a distinct something which I would say is humour. This is probably due to the trailors being the prime comedy cuts of the entire movie, but I had great expectations of this flick and I was quite let down.

What does everyone else think about this?

I hated the movie. I can understand how kids would like it, though.

It reminds me of the young adult obsession with Spongebob Squarepants.

I thought it was ok,

I thought ICE AGE was much better, nowhere near as hyped, or as big budgeted, but twice as funny and visually stunning.

I haven't seen it yet.. but I want to.
I liked Monsters Inc and Lilo & Stitch[sp]

I think I'm the only person alive who hasn't seen Monsters Inc.

Anyway, I pretty much agree about Finding Nemo. I loved the graphics and everything, but the plot was rather lame. (There is a death however; correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the mommy fish at the beginning die?)

Yeah, it was cute. Crush the turtle was cool I'll agree, but I think cute just about sums up the entire film.

Cute but no plot.

I was under the impression that the plot was to.. find Nemo.

I guess that's just me.

Well that's obvious but I think the plot although extremely evident lacked much substance thats all, which is nearly as bad as not having any plot at all.

not all movies need to have a hardout mind boggling plot. Its the reason why its an animated family movie. You look at other supposed adult movies which are meant to have a GREAT story, and its even shittier than a kids one. But still I reckon its got heaps of funny bits...

I have to give Finding Nemo big credit simple because of the animation. Great work.

I laughed a few times. Shrek was still better, though.

I loved Finding Nemo...I thought it was fun and endearing and witty enough to meet my expectations.

The recovering addict sharks amused me. Dory speaking whale was stupid, but I still laughed my ass off. The "plan of escape" by the tough fish in the tank... the part about rolling in their individually tied plastic baggies out the window, across the street, and into the ocean was classic. Some of the one-liners were cute and stupid but fun: "Aww, you made me ink myself!"

All in all, I liked it...keep in mind I have an insatiable love of marine biology.

i really liked Finding Nemo. i thought it was amazing and the the writing was really good. had some good jokes here and there

Monesters Inc. and Ice Age are still my favorites though

Ice Age was made by a smaller company though. Blue Sky or something not Pixar, so there was much less hype about it.

Shrek2 looks really good

I just saw it for the first time tonight.

I thought it was cute and really funny-basically, ditto everything Alice said in regards to it.

Same goes with "Shrek".

I haven't seen "Monsters Inc.", though.

I thought it was pretty funny. The seagulls especially, even though all they did was sit around and wait for something to mave in the water and then start repeating mine! mine! mine! over adn over again!

Hahaha, yeah, that was good. :D. My sister particularly got a kick out of them, along with the fish who was obsessed with the bubbles.
